My '06 Sprint has a triple but it's 1050 cc. I took it to a track day last year. It was great but I wished I had a lighter weight bike, but I'm just a lady... not a big strong man.

It cuts out when you drop the side stand for safety. So you don't try to ride off with the kickstand down which could cause a problem. Sorry I am no help with your other issue. There are a lot of guys here with a lot of knowledge about this stuff. My advice would be to try what they offer...

My hubbie installed LED lights in the reflector part of the rear case. They flash with turn signals too but light up red. He's a electrician by trade so it was easy for him. His brakes are really bright now. I should know I am always following him. lol

Using (or getting & using) the center stand sounds a heck of a lot easier to me.
