    Two or four fingers?

Can I revote on this poll? I use to only ever brake with 4 fingers. I've been practicing riding with two hovering of the front brake and now I only use two fingers - just like Rossi :cheer: The brakes on my Street Triple R are so sensitive, I sometimes can use 1 finger.

Thinking about a new touring oriented bike

If you will be doing 2up riding, consider your passenger. I love my '06 Triumph Sprint ST for touring, but recently the hubby and I had to ride 2up for about 120 miles due to mechanical issues with his bike. I was on the back and with the hard cases on the bike, it was very uncomfortable foot...

Hwy 36, Hwy 1, Mt. Hamilton and Yosemite

Hahahaha Yes, need to lookout for Pot growers. Don't take any unmarked roads. You'll never be seen again. If you see someone in Camo on a quad, they will be packing heat - large. I wonder if pot being legal in CA will cut into their business. I'd done highway 3 from 299 to 36. That's a...

Hwy 36, Hwy 1, Mt. Hamilton and Yosemite

The sign as you get into Red Bluff. Coming from Eureka, it'll be on your left-hand side just before you cross the railroad tracks. If you cross railroad tracks, you've gone too far. turn around and you'll see it. Have a great trip.:cheer: I love that road. So fun. Highway 299, which...

Hwy 36, Hwy 1, Mt. Hamilton and Yosemite

Kenny, I can't see the pics. Says you need to update your account. Was this your first time on Highway 36? Sorry we weren't able to tag along on this ride. I LOVE 36. We were suppose to be riding the Canadian-Alaska Highway, but we switched to cruise ship. lol Much more comfortable and...

    RIP Nicky Hayden

I agree and thought the same thing. Rossi learned with his father through flat-track and still trains that way to this day. Rossi obviously recognized that was instrumental in making him the racer he is today. For him to begin training the new crop of racers in this manner speaks volumes. I...

A rider waiting for an accident

The part that scares me most about this scenerio is that it leaves the rest of us responsible riders at risk. He might just p*ss off the wrong (or right person depending how you look at it) and they decide to take it out on us as we respectful ride down the road. I've seen it happen. The...

    To Female Riders:

I'm so sorry for your loss. We need more people like Judith. Wound care is a much needed medical treatment, and I know doctors don't spend too much time on it. Not only for us bike riders but others. Hopefully, she passed her knowledge onto someone else so her legacy can live on.

    To Female Riders:

I always say "only cover the parts you want to keep" I think that road rash is harder to heal than broken bones. Also, the bugs all over my face is icky enough to make me want to wear a full-face helmet everytime.

    To Female Riders:

I'm a teacher by profession. I always tell my students that "girls can do anything boys can do, and boys can do anything girls can do, except give birth". lol I've lost count of how many times random male riders have asked me at gas stations, restaurants, etc. "do you have a sister that...

    To Female Riders:

You sound VERY sexist, but I'll ignore it as I ride past you on one of my triples in the twisties. Hubby and I ride with a local group (@vegasrider) is one of them. The first time a new "guy" rider rides with him I can tell he's thinking "Cr$p a lady rider, she's going to hold us up). By...

    Heat wave!

Yep. We bought a room A/C Friday about 3-4 hours after hubby got home. He was hot. BTW- Friday temps were only high 90s. I just ordered another one. lol First quote for new unit was WAYYY too much. Got a second quote today. Reasonable ($8000 less than first one). I'll have central a/c...

    Heat wave!

It might be a "dry heat" but it's still HOT!!! Blah My house air cond broke on Monday. Couldn't get a repairman until Firday. Of course, hubby is out of town working until Friday. Convenient for him!! Poor puppies are melting. House has been averaging 82-85 degrees inside each...

    Downieville Ride

Finally got to go for a ride with a friend of mine who bought the same bike as mine and her new boyfriend. We rode from Reno. NV to Downieville, CA via I-80 to Highway 89 to Highway 49. This harsh winter did the road no favors. The canyon area still had snow on the shady side of the...
