Error 33 breaking my bike abroad- urgent help please

If the fuel is bad, why wouldn't there be an ignition fault for the other 2 cylinders? Why wouldn't the dealership replace the plugs? "It's not urgent". Sounds like the dealership didn't want to provide actual service to you. That said, I hope it really was the fuel and that the bike improves...

What should I look for? (wrecked bike)

The FZ6R is a different bike to the FZ6. It's heavier, has less power but is generally easier to ride with a smoother clutch and broader power band. There is an FZ6R forum to check out. You should have an experienced mechanic or bike shop look it over to check for among other things bent forks...

    The R6 Fork

You're not going to be able to muscle the fork through it's entire travel range. Having the correct weight springs and preload adjustment to dial in your sag should be your primary concern. Check out Dave Moss' youtube vids on sag. Rebound and compression can be set to Yamaha's recommended...

    The R6 Fork

Suspension travel should be 4.7" with the R6 forks vs 5.1" FZ6 stock

    The R6 Fork

An R6S user manual should have the info on fork adjustments

    Dead FZ6 :(

Yikes. Be sure to pick out a non-magnetic tire this time. But seriously, I'd recommend running sealant to guard against flats given how much crap is on your roads.

    Heat wave!

Motogiro So did ya make it? Or take the sensible choice of cage + A/C? :D It's 101F here right now. My AC is cranked and struggling.

Error 33 breaking my bike abroad- urgent help please

Do you have the FZ6 factory service manual? Fault code 33 "Malfunction detected in the primary wire of the ignition coil (#1and #4)." Possible causes: • Open or short circuit in wire harness. • Malfunction in ignition coil. • Malfunction in ECU. • Malfunction in a component of ignition cutoff...

Error 33 breaking my bike abroad- urgent help please

As much as I hope a more knowledgeable member can pinpoint a potential fix, given how niggly electrical problems can be I'd start making plans for a mate to collect you in a truck. At least call it plan B. Where are you and where is home BTW?

Could this be the holy grail of fork upgrade!!

This is the spring compressor I went with. The wallet is taking a hit but it seems to be the best choice in terms of safety and ease of servicing forks solo. Race Tech Fork Spring Compressor https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000GV6UIE I ran across this tool and it might work as a much cheaper...

    Dead FZ6 :(

2 steps forward and another 2 back. I'd recommend tracking down the source of the leak. If the rubber is old then consider changing the front as well. If not, depending on the cause of the leak and extent, sealant may be a good option.

Could this be the holy grail of fork upgrade!!

It's not going to be possible to reassemble the forks by hand anymore with this upgrade, not even to simply change out fork oil. A fork spring compressor is absolutely required. The fork cap cannot be screwed into the rod without one. Bike will be out of action for the best part of a week...

Could this be the holy grail of fork upgrade!!

After much grinding, filing, sawzalling, and hammering, I have managed to gut and rebuild the stock Fizzer forks with the Andreani cartridge kit. Unfortunately the kit was sent with the wrong springs. The stock springs are 14" and I was sent 10.5", plus the new spacer is an inch shorter as well...

In an alternate dimension there is another Motogiro writing a thread titled "I don't usually squid, but..." ;) Let us know how the ride went!

Americans don't like the government telling them which lane to drive in. P.S. You can get your sportbike on the track for just $20 out here. Just sayin'.

Great shot from Highway 14- the better side for riding along the river for sure. You can just see Beacon Rock in the distance.

Could this be the holy grail of fork upgrade!!

No on the lathe. Got a dremel and a bastard file like this guy though. His R3 Andreani install video should be pretty much spot on. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nV80or1DN1Q
