    ~~~ What did you do to your Bike Today Thread??? ~~~
    Rims are in the shop for new tires. Gonna try the Dunlop Q3s everyone is raving about. My 5 year old Pirellis were feeling a bit wooden. Still got me stopped when I had a car pull out on me today.
    Error 33 breaking my bike abroad- urgent help please
    Pic didn't attach. I'd focus on CCT and check valves at the end of the season to enjoy the bike if possible
    Great pics! The Fizzer's rear fender seems to have fallen off ;) I'm guessing you rode in front during the rain!
    Error 33 breaking my bike abroad- urgent help please
    Good job isolating the original fault. It would be helpful to post a short video Edit: You'd also want to pull those plugs ASAP and examine since they've been firing unevenly, take a pic. Replace. You might be able to borrow a FZ6 spark plug tool from another owner or find another short...
    Error 33 breaking my bike abroad- urgent help please
    How did you get home in the end? The spark plug tool you need is in the Yamaha FZ6 tool kit which comes with the bike from the factory, held in the under seat storage. You may find one of these kits on ebay.
    Could this be the holy grail of fork upgrade!!
    55 mile country ride today with my left fork bandaged with a white shop towel and zip tie. With the front and rear suspension now working together, the bike feels easier to take through the corners, like the shock added another 20% to the handling. On the damaged roads around here, while the...
    Could this be the holy grail of fork upgrade!!
    Unfortunately my left fork leg is leaking. My bad for not replacing the seals so got the fork seal kit on order. $28, shouldn't have cheaped out! Added to the recommended list. Installed the new shock tonight. Practically drops right in. Clear FZ6 specific instructions. Preload and rebound...
    Hwy 36, Hwy 1, Mt. Hamilton and Yosemite
    Glad it wasn't too bad especially since your forks are the wrong way up ;) A zip tie and a rag/shop towel could be used in a pinch to help guard against it dripping down to the brakes or tire. When you talk to the dealer about the warranty don't tell them you were riding intermittently...
    Epic ride. Thanks for sharing. How did you address the blown seal?
    Could this be the holy grail of fork upgrade!!
    50 mile country ride today. The front end inspires confidence. A lot of the twisties around here are forested and that's where the road surface is generally poorest. The worst of it really causes problems for the rear so looking forward to getting the replacement shock in soon.
    A few small issues
    You paid the shop to do it right. No need to march in there and start throwing F's about, just politely and confidently point out the problem, stating that you expect them to correct it. Depending on how they address it, seriously consider never taking your bike in there again and this is...
    What happens when you try to fire it up? Check for possible low battery voltage- could have died due to limping along in low RPMs Where are you now? Post for help on national/regional bike forum Leave at a reputable bike shop/dealership, return with trailer later
    Could this be the holy grail of fork upgrade!!
    Got a shock ordered up- Ohlins YA 403 from Cogent Dynamics where a lot of FJ-09 riders are getting suspension help. Cogent is having the shock drop-shipped direct to me from Ohlins and appropriately sprung. Good guys. They beat the retail online prices, too. http://www.motocd.com/ For anyone...
    New member welcome thread..
    The thing the bike needs most is miles put on it. You need to get to know the bike to determine what if anything it needs, whether to suit your ergonomics (handlebar, footpegs, seat, etc.) or how and where you ride (wind protection, suspension) for example.
    New member welcome thread..
    Welcome. Nice ride! Looks very stock other than the seat upgrade. I like the polished headers so be sure to keep them shining. Rather than get fizzer farkles, maybe consider protective riding gear unless you're already in good shape in that dept.
    Could this be the holy grail of fork upgrade!!
    Omnia Racing wrote back to assure me that the spring length was correct for their cartridge kit and encouraged me to complete the install. My spring compressor is still in the mail but I was able to muscle the preload spacer and spring down just far enough that an assistant could get pliers in...
