Need expert opinions - Time for valve adjustment?

I ran some seafoam through the tank and intake, it runs better, but still has a little loppy idle which I attribute to the cam chain/tensioner. I have a manual one ordered waiting for it to come. I still plan on doing a valve check and whatnot. Also a side note on the seafoam, I sprayed it...

    Downshift through every gear?

I was taught the same at MSF although you simply had to clutch in and shift into first at the END of the emergency stop, not downshift while you were moving. The reason they teach that is so if you have to move quickly again, you'll be in first already and you won't stall the bike because you...

How much do you pay for insurance?

    Full coverage 45/month. My car is 235 a month!:\

    how to change coolant?

The bolt directly below the middle of the screw driver blade. That's the drain plug

Thank God for Frame Sliders and Ful Leathers.....

It takes A LOT of force to damage these frames and engines. In a drop or minor crash, frame sliders prove their worth. As for hard hits and crashes, there's no evidence to suggest sliders do more harm than good. Sliders(most of them) are made out of a very hard but grindable plastic, and are...

    Having trouble finding a FZ6

He held it on the rev limiter for 10 minutes doing a burnout :BLAA: Just kidding I have no idea, but 14k is really low for a bad motor.

Thank God for Frame Sliders and Ful Leathers.....

Good that you're uninjured but damn bike looks like it slammed down hard. Rear brake helps out a lot in situations like that.

    Oxford heated grips install help...

Did you start them on the highest or lowest setting? Most electric things(motors, coils, heaters, etc) need to have full power at start up.

    0-206 km/h

Do you have a speedohealer? Mine redlined 6th at 140MPH(GPS verified) with modified gearing. Stock gearing it would've taken miles and miles to go that fast.

    Downshift through every gear?

I prefer to utilize every gear, on my bike and my car(manual). Sure it will somewhat put more wear on your clutch etc but oh well, that's what it's for.

    2006 FZ6 Speedo

I believe he's talking about the actual gauge cluster, not a speedohealer. I bought an extra gauge off of ebay a couple years ago, and resold it earlier this year for $200. I wish I kept it, but I needed the money. I think I paid around 100-150 for it originally.

    Question on fairing/headlight mounting points

Better than nothing I guess. If you don't mind me asking what did you pay for it?

    My key won't turn

+1 on graphite powder spray, I use it on all my locks. My FZ6 ignition does the same thing, but usually I just push down and wiggle it and it works. Silicone spray as others said is good too. I've used it on house locks that stick together.

    R6 cam swap

The FZ6 and R6 engines use the same valves, springs, cam gears/chain, except for the "inner" exhaust valve springs. I'm wondering if they'll be fine with R6 cams? Also the R6 has a camshaft position sensor, and possibly different timing, where I believe the FZ6 has no such sensor. Does that...

    R6 fork oil amount

When I had the local(now they dont exist) shop rebuild my R6 forks, they used 1 bottle of Yamaha fork oil. I'm not sure what weight they used, but the guy said to use stock because of the valving, you don't need a heavier weight like with FZ6 forks.

    BD43 mod

The way I did it was to just find the green wire in the harness, tap into it and run a wire to the headlight connector. I think the only thing I bought was an H4 connector and flag pin. You get both low beams, and when you switch on high beam you get one low and one high. Been running great like...

Just a quick tip, if you change the bearings go with tapered bearings from AllBalls!

    Question on fairing/headlight mounting points

I believe they are what bolt onto the fairing stay, in other words what holds the headlights to everything else. Rubber grommets go around the "nub" and then you screw it into the stay. I've got a spare headlight assembly if you want to buy it. Only damage is upper left bracket(just barely in...

    R6 fork?

Shims are easy to find, they're basically washers. The fender brackets are just about impossible unless you make them yourself or buy them from someone who switched back. I was lucky enough to buy the brackets second hand from a member.

    Snatchy throttle fix..almost

I'll definitely check this out. It is something you learn to live with though. You get used to rolling on the throttle to make it smooth, just like you get used to the clutch.
