    DUAL lowbeam Vs. Highbeams on?

I thought about the hid's for a while because I liked the look, but the bottom line is you need to make yourself seen and you need increased visibility at night. The dual headlight mod will accomplish both and you will have some extra cash for that exhaust system. IMHO Sent from my DROID RAZR...

    Revving the engine?

I am guessing that is about 80 - 85 since you are using capital letters. Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using Tapatalk

    Revving the engine?

I agree with your love of the exhaust sound. These engines are high tech in their design and many more parts moving at very high rates of speed especially in the upper RPM range. Besides not revving the engine cold, I let it come up to temp before I ride. The engine and it's internals will be...

My first motorcycle ever & first ride ever

:welcome: to the best Forum around. It sounds like you are on right track with gear and instruction. Take your time to learn your limits, be careful and patient. Remember, there is no substitute for experience.

    Not a Good day

I remember seeing a couple of people perform the turn-brake maneuver in my first MSF class. :spank: Fortunately we were riding Buell (no so much) Blasts. It's bad for the class participant, but it's a great attention getter for the rest of the class.

    My FZ1 handlebar install review

I am swapping mine out now and noticed that for the FZ1 bars the rotational index mark is on the left, FZ6 on the right. FSM states to align mark with lower mounting block, but it does require a slight rotation upward to clear tank at full lock.

Android Kit Kat for: RazR M, HD & Maxx is rolling out

I updated my Razr HD last Thursday night and when I got my first phone call on Friday morning I couldn't answer the call from a locked phone, email wouldn't push and I lost bluetooth connection to my Belkin in my cage. Needless to say I lost my appetite for candy bars. :Flip: After a few calls...

    Cracked oil pan, any advice?

Sorry guys, that is an expensive and pain in the a$$ lesson to learn. Oil filters and drain plugs are two things that most people generally overtighten (true for all engines). With each one you just make good contact and then maybe a 1/4 turn more to snug up. I prefer not to follow torque specs...

    They Took my Baby

Re: The Took my Baby I am curious, did you ever use any of the LE dbases to search for it? You are always fond of your first. I really feel bad for you, I hope that wasn't your only form of transportation. The best therapy might be to start looking at another bike, especially...

New to bikes and the FZ6

Remove your seat so you can more easily see what the rear shock is set at. The factory setting I believe is 3. You can use the factory tool from the toolkit to adjust as needed, the higher the number the firmer the rear shock setting. I have the same TB exhaust and the note when you rev 8-10k is...

    Pretty upsetting...

First, accidents happen. I bet nearly everyone on this Forum has some drop story or low speed fall. Mine was a couple of years ago when I got off of it and left idling for a moment on my 6% sloped driveway. About 30 seconds after I walked away the slope, vibration and 9.8 m^2 allowed the the...

    Thieves! This is getting ridiculous!

I don't have any dogs now, but I have always liked "wiener dogs" and they can sound the alarm if necessary, albeit something less than 120 db.... You or anyone should not have to live their life looking over their shoulder. I think it is prudent to place some protective measures in place as...

Major Problem.... Bent valve/snapped valve + who knows

It definitely sounds terminal. With the way insurance works regarding repairing vs. replacing, companies are more likely to total a bike out for what we would consider is repairable in many instances. So, I would look for a used one that may have been involved in an accident and may have some...

I'm pissed - Someone moved my bike

It's wrong and you feel violated, but the best thing you did was take a deep breath. You may find out later who was responsible and come up with something creative. Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using Tapatalk

I have to keep telling myself its not a 600

On my route home from work I have a chance to join the traffic flow while making a right on red. The road is four lanes wide each side and the posted sped limit is 55, however traffic flow is closer to 65 mph. This is the perfect opportunity to max out first to get up to speed. The couple of...

    2007 Yamaha Fz6 (Boston, MA/RI)

+1, all very good points. Life Lesson: No Risk = No Reward. These bikes do come up for sale fairly regularly, somewhere. You will find one that is to your liking if you exercise a little patience.

    One more from the track

It looks like you had a great day and the track pretty much to yourself. It sounded like you stayed in the same gear - was it third? The double apex righthander looks challenging

Florida’s motorcycle deaths make a strong case for helmet laws

What parent would let their child buy an R6 for a first bike? The fortuneate one here is (friend B). If (friend A) had caused or was involved in a serious accident (friend B) would have found himself in some deep doodoo. :spank:
