First crash EVER, in ~26 years of riding

One other item (it never ends), do you have an adjustable steering damper? The R6 is very solid but it will shake its head hard as you crest a rise under hard throttle. It will help keep your underwear clean.

First crash EVER, in ~26 years of riding

Woodcraft rearsets are nice. The pegs don't fold so if you do crash the peg helps keep the bike off the ground. Longer clippon bars assist in that too. And Woodcraft sells replacement parts at very reasonable prices. Oh and internal axle mounted sliders don't break. With all of those things the...

First crash EVER, in ~26 years of riding

As the day goes on rubber is laid down on the track surface and increases throughout the day. I like to use the school line in the morning then after lunch, once every one had crashed out ;), play with lines and explore the track. Sessions 1 and 2 typically have the most crashes. See, now...

First crash EVER, in ~26 years of riding

Now you have a reason to get Woodcraft case covers. They have a nifty replaceable slider. They also don't crack. Remember to build speed throughout the entire day. Start easy and wake up the brain and body first.

    Roadrash sucks............Like really bad

Too loose I'm guessing. Gear needs to be snug to work. Ouch.

    Roadrash sucks............Like really bad

How hecklers did you burn up your bicep? Get well and use the antiseptic with the pain killer in it. It really helps.

    Indianapolis MotoGP (no spoilers)

Moto 3 is my favorite. I'd love to ride one of them on the track.

08 Front forks, axle, R6 calipers and lines, and R6 lower triple

FYI The early R6 & R6S use the same fork.

Major maintenance: bearings, spark plugs and fork oil

As Final said P VC pipe is the was to go. It is very easy to cut. On the FZ you can easy pop one fork cap off at a time to cut the pipe and adjust preload. You can also stack washers under the cap to increase preload. Does anyone have the link to the suspension set article on Sport Bike for...

No one's snapped this up yet? The R6 fork is a wonderful mod. They really make a big difference in performance and comfort.

    1982 Yamaha XV920R Project Bike

I found an RZV500 rear wheel in Japan for...$45.00. It's an 18X3.00" wheel and will give the 130 tire the correct profile. The current RZ350 2.50" wheel pinches it a bit. It also saves about 1 to 1.5 lbs off the wheel itself. As we are moving back to Austin, hooray!, this will need to...

The joy of working on R6

They're not too bad. About $650.00 for a whole kit. You're right about the weight savings They also crash much better than OEM. They flex before the break. You could probably sell your OEM kit and more than pay for the track kit.
