Yamaha sales are well up for the first quarter of 2015

This means more cool bikes are on the way!

    1986 fz 600 purgatory

At this point have you considered getting a new used motor? The way I see it you are about to cross the Rubicon. If so maybe you jump in with both feet and do a restoration?

    1986 fz 600 purgatory

Yeah it was fugly back then too. With the GPz550 it didn't stand a chance.

It's like wine, it gets better with time until the cork rots.

Thank goodness for JB Weld! Good luck with the repairs. It's really a nice bike. A buddy and I used to endurance race one back in the '80's. It was pretty fast and had very good handling for the time. It's one of my favorite body styles too. I like the dual headlights and the block seat.

    1986 fz 600 purgatory

I'm thinking the cam chain was so loose that it may have jumped a tooth. Granted it's hard to do but can happen. The tensioner is on the outside of the motor so you don't to take the motor apart. Keep in mind your bike is 30 years old and the PO made cardboard gaskets. You've got some work in...

Great job! The FZ600 is a fun bike. Have your checked the cam chain tensioner? Are the valves adjusted to spec?

Small claims court? anyone with experiance?

Even if you win good luck collecting. In Denver waaaay back in 1983, I was T boned on my bicycle. I finally took the guy to small claims court after getting the run around, won, but could still never collect any money from him. I spoke with the Police and Sheriff, nothing they could do.

    1982 Yamaha XV920R Project Bike

Finally got the wheels the right powder coat. It took two attempts to get it right. I also found one NOS side cover badge. That was a 2 year search.

    What comes with different exhausts?

I'm puzzled why one would buy a nice exhaust and cork it up with discs that are more restrictive than stock. Why not just keep the stock exhaust?

Thought I was getting a deal. Looks like I'm the sucker!!

Your brake system is almost out of fluid. Pull the rudder thing out, it folds back up on itself, and add fluid.

Thought I was getting a deal. Looks like I'm the sucker!!

Personally I'd sell it. The bike has been down and slid into something, hence the new frontend. The seller was not forthcoming with you and you've only scratched the surface on the bike. Yes you can fix the odds and ends but by the time you do that you could get a nice clean stock FZ6.

    HEL Brake Line Setup

The brand of SS line can make all the difference in world with fitment. HEL, Speigler, Fren Tubo and the more expensive ones typically fit much better than the inexpensive ones. They also offer many more options too, colors, types/sizes/shapes of banjos, etc. Some also offer different...

    Good Sprockets???

It is if you have an impact driver for the countershaft sprocket and a chain breaking tool.

First Time at the Drag Strip

Nice job! A quick shifter really makes a big difference as you can just hold it WFO and GO!
