Great ride with motojoe and metallicat

Thanks for sharing the info! I visited this castle today and took the guided tour. Amazing piece of history and architecture. A time well spent. Good ride.

New owner of 06 FZ6S. 15T/43T what effect does this have?

I changed to 15/46 and it runs with more power so to say, but the speedo is even more off than before. I don't care much about the speed difference, but it throws the real mileage (add), and harder to track the maintenance intervals. Do you do something about it?

    Yamaha Comfort Seat FZ6

Bump. I don't use it, so it sits in the garage in a box. It is better than stock for the passenger, but too smooth for my behind. I prefer the rugged stock. To each their own...

Observation / modular helments always open.. .. ..

The advantage of modular helmet is that you can open it up when: hot, block the sun in your eyes (especially at sunrise/sunset or between trees) so it serves me as a lip, nice air in the face and more view, easier to put it on, or taking it off... If I like, I can ride up to 65-70mph open...

just getting a minor incident off my chest

No worries. A little close call. Just learn a lesson and carry on. The rear is easily get locked especially on wet. Try always to stay on right or left side of a car in front, like near the center line between cars. And yes, ABS is long overdue to be in all bikes, especially street ones.

Motorcycle Parking - Designated Spaces or NOT

In Europe everyone parks on the curb parallel the road, in one row. Generally you can freely park wherever. In the USA this convenience is not existent as bikes just started to gain population in the past few decades. Bike parking are almost nonexistent here so everyone uses their own...

FJ-09; A most certain replacement for my FZ6

FJ will compete with the 2015 Versys 1000 which has Z1000 engine. If FJ will try to save on ABS and TC (as in FZ09 case) and won't have that at least as an option it will be a big minus for Yamaha.

    Chain and sprocket life span

I use Maxima Wax for over 10 years. It sticks to the chain and puts type of a "film" over it for protection.

    Chain and sprocket life span

What is a reputable place to buy the sprocket/chain for our bike? I wanna go with -1 front. Also, the stock is 530 ('06), but I see some converting to 520. Is there any advantage (besides the wight)?

    Suspension Setup

Well, I'm not sure about the physics of it, but does feels better. Especially if going over the raised uneven pavement.

    Suspension Setup

Mystery solved. I opened the tube and the smaller pitch part springs were downwards. Now it feels normal :)

    Suspension Setup

Thanks. Yamaha makes great bikes, but their suspensions are sux. BTW the best suspensions are on a bemer. These guys know suspensions. Is there a difference if the spring is up side down (narrow "progressive" side up)?

    Suspension Setup

I have 06 model stock, and I think the suspensions are too stiff especially going over the bumps and "stitches" running across our bad roads. The bike just unpleasantly jumps up. On uneven bumpy roads it feels nervous and rattles. Maybe it designed this way for the sport-riding on smooth roads...
