I was going to install FZ1 bars, but am now going to go with the FZ6R bars. I don't find the OEM FZ6 bars uncomfortable on short rides, it's just that on longer rides (over an hour) the sharp 'pull back' of the bars tends to force my elbows in and up, so the "inside bend" of my elbows are...

I've mentioned this before, but it's worth mentioning again...Here's an old automotive trick for cleaning up spilled brake fluid:- Always have a bottle of fresh water on hand to clean up any brake fluid that has spilled on your bike, on the floor or on your hands. Brake fluid is death to paint...

No kidding. :D Before I bought my FZ6, I bought a new Yamaha XT225 as I wasn't really planning to ride much on the road again. After a couple of weekends of bouncing around off-road and falling off, I felt I might make it to my next birthday (61 at the time) in much better shape if I went back...

I returned to bikes and riding in summer of 07 at the age of 60, after a long absence. I rode bikes exclusively in my late teens and early 20's in England. I'm 64 this year (in October) and I have no intention of either slowing down or giving up riding. I can't slow down anyhow since...

Padding the pole wouldn't have made any difference....it still would have killed him. The track was way too fast and dangerous. If it hadn't killed him, it would have killed or severely injured someone else.

Chew up some gum, then put it on the end of a piece of metal coathanger bent to go inside the headlamp unit. Get the gum to stick to the bulb and then pull it up and out.

Begs the question.....will an R6 motor bolt right in to an FZ6?

As others have suggested, install a 15 tooth front sprocket and you'll have exactly what you want for about $20. It's the best bang-for-the-buck performance mod you can do to an FZ6.

IIRC, the video depicts French police demonstrating shooting from bikes.

Slightly OT rant: For some reason known only to Yamaha, the US FZ6's can switch from MPH to KPH, but the Canadian FZ6's can't. I can change to MPH now thanks to my Speedohealer. Only the numbers read MPH, however...the speedo still shows "KPH".

Hellgate's great eye for detail picked up the "vintage" headers in the B&W photo that I found.....notice in your colour photo's the headers are more "modern" and stylish.

Yes, there are some styling "miscues" in that photo which makes it suspect. I would be really surprised if anybody scoops the Yamaha factory with the first official photo of the complete bike.

Although a cruiser is not my "cup of tea", I do like the look of the new T-bird. I would like to see just a tiny hint of the old, original 50's and 60's Triumph Thunderbird in the styling, however.....like a shrouded headlight, for example.
