    Contractor Bent My Bars

FZ6 bars will bend quite easily, it doesn't take much. ;) That's why my bike's got new bars after trailering it once. :o Do NOT use the bar-end Canyon Carvers as the main tie-down, they will bend your bars.

Mirror with led from FZ1 work on fz6?

Those mirrors are very poor quality...you'll be disappointed in them. They look very cheap and ugly in reality and break easily. A much better option is to adapt Suzuki GSXR mirrors with the LED turnsignals.

    Speed Triple?

I think the FZ6 fairing does keep a lot of wind blast off my chest, but (as you say) I don't think it does a great job of proper wind protection. I rode for a couple of hours into a very strong wind last summer on Hwy 20 in WA state and my neck was very, very tired and sore the next day. I...

    Speed Triple?

That is a concern, of course. OTOH, by all accounts the new Triumphs are pretty much bullet proof. My local Yamaha Dealer (Pacific Yamaha) has just recently acquired the Triumph brand as well. They've managed to "steal" some good staff from the other Triumph dealers in town, so I'd be...

    Speed Triple?

Thanks guys! That's just what I wanted to know....or needed to hear. ;)

    Speed Triple?

To the guys that have moved on to Speed/Street Triples.....Do you miss the FZ6's fairing?

    Integrated mirrors

+1 on Sanger A2's comments...they are truly poor quality and you'll be very disappointed in them. Go with the GSXR mirror mod if you really like the integrated flashers. In my very humble opinion, the pod light flasher/marker light mod is a more satisfactory and aesthetically more pleasing mod...

    Do you use your clutch?

(I'm surprised nobody else has mentioned this).....Quite honestly, I tend to do clutchless upshifts mainly to save wear and tear on my left hand and wrist on a long, busy ride. The perceived wear on the transmission is the last thing on my mind. ;) I will also do them when the need arises to...

Michelin Pilot Road 3 are here!!!!!!

Wow...those pics are shocking to say the least. I was completely sold on the PR3's to replace my stock D252's. Please let us know what Michelin has to say about the matter. Glad you pulled over before anything untoward happened.

What clutch lever do you use?

Since installing the Pazzo long levers on my FZ6, I haven't had any cramping in my clutch hand as I had previously with the OEM levers. Why Yamaha don't make the clutch side adjustable like the brake side is beyond me. What I find with the Pazzo's is a superior mechanical advantage achieved by...

    how to tie down fz6?

I would also caution against using the Canyon Dancers.....they WILL bend your handlebars, even with very little fork compression when tying down.

    Xr1200x

To FZ6771: Just out of curiosity, is the clutch cable on the XR1200x in my photo routed correctly? It just seemed to be hanging out in the breeze on the left side of the bike. Particularly, just in front of the upper triple tree. There's a bracket with a couple of holes that appear to me to...

    Xr1200x

The XR1200x caught my eye at the Vancouver Bike Show a few weeks ago. It's a lot bigger than it looks in photographs, with a seat height that's a bit of a stretch for this Custom Built Brit. (5'8")

What's the point of the FZ1 bars

I've mentioned this a few times already, but if all you're looking for is a more natural angle to your wrists, install the FZ6R bars. They angle forward about 1" further at the bar ends than the standard FZ6 bars. They made a world of difference to my riding. I would particularly recommend...

I just have to get it out of my system...

Naw.....we beat the Yanks in the semi's, so it's all good. :D And what about those Vancouver Canucks, eh? Top of the NHL!!

Clutch Slave Levers - I'm making them again

I will definitely want to be in on this. :)

    Throttle enclosure

Are you talking about 'lateral' or end to end play in the throttle grip/housing? If so, that's normal. If you're talking about the grip/cable housing being loose on the bars, that's not normal.

    Crazy Idiot+Motorcycle=Crash

It looks pretty obvious to me that he had very little (if any..) experience riding a motorcycle.

    Different handlebars

I switched to FZ6R bars. The bar is straighter than the FZ6 bar, but only slightly....about 1" more forward at each end. However, the difference in comfort (albeit subtle) is amazing. Everything swaps over with no issues at all.

    fz6 bar ends

I've got FZ6R bars on my FZ6 and the FZ6 bar ends fit...so I'd say the answer is yes.
