    Catless Mid

Since I hate the environment I just went with a straight pipe for a while. Actually no - My cat was gone when I bought the bike, I feel that the previous owner had aftermarket pipes but just left the decat pipe on it when he put the stock exhaust back on. So I had a completely stock...

Selling the fz6 need some advise

I'm thinking that might be a bit steep - 59k km isn't a spring chicken, and the 06 model year doesn't usually bring as much as the 07's (brake upgrades, slight body upgrades etc) - my main problem is that without a clean title and with signs of cosmetic damage, especially to the tank, most...

How to determine if my FZ6 is lowered?

Try taking off the tire hugger, it's just a few bolts on the swingarms and one retaining clip at the front, it is a bit of a PITA to pull all the way out, but just getting it part way out of the way would make it easier to get a view of the lower part of the shock. Is the picture of you...

    Catless Mid

I've got a catless midpipe - if you have the stock muffler, you probably won't notice much, but if you have an aftermarket exhaust you'll notice a significant flow/noise increase.

    WOT...for the first time?

If it's anything like my roommates RSV-R, I don't blame you. 1/2 throttle on that 1000cc v-twin and the front wheel is lifting off.

    Revving the engine?

THIS! Otherwise, rev it all you want if that tickles your fancy, though to be honest, aside from the occasional blip, people will probably think you're a bit of a Dbag.

How to determine if my FZ6 is lowered?

Being 6'3", if it fits you properly, it's probably the stock height. Jokes aside, it's a tall bike to begin with. The lowering method in the rear is to swap out the lower aluminum block of the shock with a shorter one, the difference is only about 10mm, so it's going to be difficult to tell...

    Thieves! This is getting ridiculous!

That's what I always find curious, robbing someone in the country is just asking for trouble. Growing up just outside of a small town, we all know that the cops won't get there in time if they even decide to come, and take things into our own hands. The first time that may mean rock salt or bird...

    Thieves! This is getting ridiculous!

Need to borrow some 'home defense'? I could loan you a (not so) vicious guard dog and a small arsenal of fire arms.

    Loud Exhaust

Not that silly - once the packing material is gone, it'll excessively heat the outer shell. On a steel/titanium exhaust you should be okay, the carbon ones though don't do too well with that, and sometimes you'll actually blow a hole in the side of your pipes.

    Loud Exhaust

Got any pics of that? glasspacks ftw. Cheap, free flowing, loud, light and low profile - only problem is they're a bit raspy. I feel like I'm on a riced out civic sometimes.

Danmoto Model: EX-00747 - anyone running this?

I like DanMoto - I can guarantee that those are loud. You'll probably need to repack them on a somewhat regular basis, but they're probably pretty good!

    Wait wait.. FZ-07?

The reference was to the historically flawed British automotive electrical systems in general, not any one bike specifically.

Got the death wobble on the Fz6

Sounds like my setup -

    Wait wait.. FZ-07?

The messed up electronics were a special "UK only" feature. Yamaha figured that it would make you Brits feel more comfortable to ride something with an electronics system that performed like it was developed in england.

Hope you got out to see your mother...

Took a couple of days off and drove down to NC - spent the weekend cutting down trees, building a bridge, cleaning gutters, drinking beer and eating fried chicken with my mom and step mom at their respective houses. Nothing says happy mothers day like a man atop a 40 foot extension ladder with a...

    Power commander v maps?

So after a week of abuse I still averaged 39mpg on this map. And it was funnnnn. I caught up to a zx14 on the highway and, more surprisingly, had a respectable 80mph roll on against him. Obviously I was no match, but it was much closer than I expected. He was probably just in 6th (to my 3rd)...

    Throttle seems Different Today: Help

And be sure to tighten down the locknuts. I didn't do a good enough job and it wound up buzzing free a few weeks later. Then the cable came loose and I had no throttle pull left. It's a sad feeling but at least I knew where the problem was.
