Purging Coolant like crazy and white exhaust.

A compression test could show if the head gasket is leaking, though. If the cylinder is pressurized, and the coolant bubbles, you'll know there's a problem.

    First time with a passenger

My wife's too short to do that. She has to hold onto the grab rails.

    First time with a passenger

I hate the idea of riding pillion. I just can't do it. I'm too much of a control freak, which amazes me that my wife can ride as a passenger. With respect to your original post, the FZ6 is definitely an interesting one when it comes to having passengers. Definitely bump the shock to 7, and...

    Foot Pegs Ground too far

Lean your body more, and the bike less.

    Volunteering?

I had to do a double take. I live in Monroe County as well...Monroe County, NY.

    To Female Riders:

My wife's in the same boat. She's short. So short she can't get my FZ6 off the side stand. She saw an 883 Sportster and now wants one. Coincidentally, a coworker's dad is thinking about selling his. Hmmmm...we shall see.

    Volunteering?

I was an assistant scoutmaster with my old Boy Scout troop for several years, until I moved, and started school. Now that I'm done with school, I'm thinking about getting involved with one of the local troops. I don't miss the BS and politics of scouting, but I do miss seeing the boys grow and...

    Remove front and rear wheel

A 3/8"-drive 5/8" spark plug socket turned around, with an extension run through where the spark plug would normally go. The hex on the socket fits perfectly into the bolt.

    Nascar

Open wheel racing. I've seen snippets on TV, but never been terribly interested in it.

    She won't start

US bikes don't have this option.

    Nascar

Here's a little history: NASCAR got started in the south where they make moonshine. Since making moonshine and selling it was (and is) illegal, the drivers had to be better drivers and have faster cars than the cops. Eventually, these drivers, as all men do, started to brag about how fast...

    Nascar

It's a heck of a lot more interesting to watch than Formula 1 or Indy. There, there's hardly any passing, and there's way too much technology involved.

    She won't start

Nowhere in the manual (at least for the 2004) does it say it's necessary to leave the bike on to let the fan run. The fan runs because the key is on and the coolant is hot. It's just the way it works. It's not doing anything for you other than running your battery down.

    She won't start

All that would do is cool what's in the radiator. There's really no point to it.

    She won't start

For starters, there's no advantage to leaving the bike turned on after shutting it off. All you're doing is killing your battery, so stop doing that. You may notice your battery lasts longer.

    General Questions on the FZ6

That rear tire looks strange. Maybe it's just some dirt or something on it, but it almost looks like the chords are showing.

    General Questions on the FZ6

Shop around. I just switched to Progressive for $225/YEAR for full coverage on my 04. This is the 4th company I've had cover this bike, and the 2nd time I've been with Progressive. Each change has seen a decrease in coverage cost.

    Nascar

Not at all. It's not a short radius like that playground toy. Completely different. Another fun tidbit, all but the road courses are run counter clockwise. Watkins Glen and Sonoma are both run clockwise.

    DIY fork removal...

I'd advise you to weight the passenger seat (or somehow similarly hold the back tire on the ground), and put something under the headers as a "just in case", and not actually use them to support any weight. I also highly recommend loosening (not remove, just loosen) the caps of the forks...

    PVC pipe on footpegs, Warning!

I would NOT mount anything to the hugger. It's not rigid enough.
