What is the best Handle Bar Mod?

I've had the stock bars, the FZ1 bars, and now the Suburban Machinery bars, so I might be able to give you a little info. I hated the stock bars. They put my wrists at a very odd angle and were just flat uncomfortable. The FZ1 bars are great. They do put your body position just a bit...

    Ducati Monster 696

Daniel (the OP) never got around to installing this headlight, IIRC. We've got a friend that has the 696 Duc and I think he fell in love with the idea of putting that headlight on his naked FZ6. He ended up buying Paige's (as in PJ's Parts) FZ1 earlier this year. He's never looked back...

    Your favourite phone app !!

Hmm...I keep nearly the same apps on the first page of my springboard all the time (jailbroken iPhone). As far as the stock apps go, I use Calendar, Clock (alarm), Notes, and Calculator everyday. I also tend to use the Compass (and Maps) constantly with my job. Non-stock apps that I...

What do you have on your bike keychain?

Bike key, Givi keys for topcase and sidecases (denoted by the notch in the back of the key), Coach leather baseball that my significant other gave me years ago (good luck charm), and obligatory Deal's Gap keychain (of course!!!)

No rear axle bolt alignment marks, why?

Ha, ha...I should have been clearer on that point. I was saying that I've never seen the problem of the sprockets NOT being aligned correctly. Sorry about that! :D

No rear axle bolt alignment marks, why?

I will say generally...yes. That assumes that your sprockets are straight (aligned) correctly on the wheel, but I've yet to see anyone with that problem. I think about it like this...the sprocket sits at a 90 degree angle to the axle. Because of this, the chain sits at the same 90 degree...

No rear axle bolt alignment marks, why?

Corsara, I've got one of these chain adjustment tools (I just bought it over the winter) and I couldn't be happier with it. It takes all the guesswork out of aligning the chain and, consequently, the rear tire. Just pop it on the top of your rear sprocket and sight down the rod until it's...

Horny naked member's this is for you...

I can't believe no one has responded yet. I'll give it a go... I've got something similar to this: Blazer/Horn (BH103FBL) | AutoZone.com My bike has the Buell conversion, so I don't have a ton of room for the aftermarket horn. After searching and searching for a spot, I fixed it up...

how can you tell the diff between S and S2?

Good info there, Motogiro. I didn't realize the subframe assembly changed on the '07+. Everything else I knew, but I'd never heard that one.

F/S: Factory Yamaha Belly Pan- Cobalt Blue

Man, that IS an amazing price for this belly pan! I've had one of these on my '06 for 4 years now, and while it's showing some scars in the middle from stuff being thrown off the front wheel (some pitting), it still looks great and I've never had one problem out of it. The really cool thing...

    Speedometer Bracket Group Interest.

You can put me down for the '04-'06 list (if you're keeping one). I agree with Erci...the price is fair, especially for a one-off part.

    Another Ebay classic

The Questions/Answers at the bottom are hilarious! Q: Hi Boogie, I trust your judgement and, I really need your advice on a serious problem: I have suspected for some time now that my wife has been cheating on me. The usual signs: if the phone rings and I answer, the caller hangs...

    Amy Winehouse found dead

Guess she should've gone to rehab...:ban: What??? Someone had to say it, darn it! :D In all seriousness, it is a sad story, but I agree with whoever said earlier that she shouldn't be treated like a great ambassador for her generation. She had issues and demons and, unfortunately, she...

    04 gauge cluster

While I'm with you guys on the tach on the '04-06, there is an easier fix. If you hit the top button on the right side of the speedometer a couple of times, it displays your RPMs numerically down at the bottom of the gauge. I've literally had mine set this way from day one (4 1/2 years...

    Thats gas..what?

I asked this exact question a few years ago about my '06. I walked out to go for a ride one day and this is what I saw: Like yours, my bike, at the time, sat on the sunny side of my building. The tank was full and the overflow tube was dripping. Not a big deal and exactly what it...

One small step for me....one giant leap for my bike

You'll get there. Believe me, the worst (seemingly) lies ahead. For me, the two most stressful moments of doing my conversion were (1) removing the fairing and (2) wiring the new headlight in. It was the only time I'd ever taken the fairing off, so I was super nervous about what I'd find...

    I paid off my FZ6!!!

Congrats, Avalon! I just paid off my car the end of June (first car I've ever paid off...lol) and now I'm doubling up on my bike payments and will have it paid off by the end of the year. It's a great feeling, isn't it???

    Loud exhaust saves lives. Really?

BTW, if anyone is interested in one of the t-shirts Erci posted, PJ's Parts sells them. I keep meaning to pick one up! Imagine T-Shirt, PJ's Parts

    Speedometer Bracket Group Interest.

Excellent to hear! Hopefully someone will be able to let you borrow the actual speedometer so you can get measurements. If not, I could probably pop mine off fairly easily and sketch something out. I'll see if anyone else can step up with the real deal first, though. Thanks!

How long does it takes to...

In beers or time? :D Erci hit the nail right on the head. If you think it'll take 2-4 hours...block off 6. While the setup is completely worth it in the end, I'd never dream of trying to take it back off and sell it separately if I ever sold the bike. What a PITA! Oh, and as...
