Why are they making me beg for a big windscreen / front fairing? My ideal bike right now has about 45 ft-lbs of torque, at least 80 horsepower, and enough fairings / windscreen to take the wind out of interstate riding.

OK, the question on my mind...what windscreen does she have? I can't believe people do this :eek: It took me two days, each very long, to travel I think 1600 miles and that really wore me out. Kudos to all of you that have the buns for the funs.

I'm not sure how to properly answer this question. I'm about to change my chain and sprockets now, but I've had a sticky link for at least the past 1600 miles or so.

Nice thread. My bike is kind of a POS so this is the thread for me. :D I've had to replace the right side engine case gasket, the fuel pump O-ring, the fork seals, and I'm about to replace the chain (it's rusty and has stuck links). Replaced a footpeg I think, put the stock mirrors back on...

I love my fz6, but as I said in another similar thread, if you want to stay around low revs an engine with more torque, as is often offered by twin cylinder engines, is probably what you're after. If you want a bike similar to the fz6, look unto the sv-650 or ninja 650.

What are those two similar black brackets for? No chance they have anything to do with the front turn signals is there?

For what it's worth there was a thing in a Cycle World where a reader had a dual compound tire that was manufactured incorrectly, with the soft compound in the middle and the hard on the outside. Possibly your problem?

Haha, it's all about that power-to-weight! You don't need much torque when you're only pushing 20-25% of the weight.

A guy I used to know once bought a brand new WRX. Well, the fz6 can outrun that in a straight line, or at least keep pace. Don't ax me how I know. :thumbup:

The fz1 is 998 cc. Approximating that as 1000cc, the fz-09 being 847, we get that .847*130.7 = 110.7 and .847*66.8 = 56.58. So the fz-09 is developing slightly less horsepower than a "scaled down" fz-01 engine but more torque. That's 3.1% lower horsepower than expected, and about 8.7% more...
