You might want to check the idle on it and make sure it is hovering around 1300. Not that you described the problem I had, but my was on occasion stalling which turned out to be a bad battery. That however followed by not being able to start the bike afterwards which you haven't mentioned...

Simple answer, no. If you want to long version, do a search on the forum for windscreens. Just about all of them for our bikes are reviewed here. Plenty of good information. There is a trade off when you go bigger windscreen which is explained pretty well in other threads.
