    The Speed Triple!

The street triple was going to be my first bike, it looks good, out-performs anything in its' class (including the Fazer) and is as english as me. However, I was brand new and the bloke that got me through my test recommended the fazer as a first bike. I'm glad he did, I love it but it will soon...

Has your bike ever hit the ground?

I dropped it the same day as I bought it. It had just been delivered and I was sat on it. Outside my house are some steps about a yard long and 8 inches high, as I wheeled it down, still sat on it, I found myself with each wheel on top of a step and my legs nowhere near the floor, you can guess...

    Help for Heroes

Nice one!! We (as in the group and place that I passed with) have just raised over £2500.00 for Help for heroes. The learner unit and shop has been selling wrist bands for the last few months and we had a christmas party with raffle, sponsored hair waxing etc. None of the credit goes to me...

FZ6 vs. Triumph Street Triple R

The fazer was my first bike but I was drooling and dreaming about the striple. The "R" version has upgraded front brakes and adjustable suspension, something average riders wouldn't notice the difference of, you'd really need to get it on a track to get any benefit of the "R". I'm definitely...

    Hardest technique to master

A hill start should be executed using a combination of rear brake, clutch and throttle. With your foot hard on the rear brake give a bit of throttle and let out the clutch until you get the bite point, slowly lift off the brake while simultaneously adding throttle and releasing clutch, at the...

    bd43's 07 Headlight Mod Part 2

I did this today, slightly differently though. I didn't remove the air filter. Instead I removed the cylindrical shaped component that is attached to the front of the battery box, just removed the top wire, pushed the nylon pin out and removed the 10mm bolt, the whole asssembly lifted out of the...

ok, who was it that filmed me?

I have, there's no option on the UK's roads, and I can go slower with more control (less wobble) on both the bandit 600 and gs 500, both of which feel lighter under the backside, perhaps they have a lower centre of gravity.

ok, who was it that filmed me?

The learner bikes where I took lessons get their clutches hammered on a daily basis with pupils practising for their module 1 and cbt, a couple of yamaha yb 125's, a bandit 600 and a gs500, next time I'm down for a coffee I'll ask how often the clutches are changed.

ok, who was it that filmed me?

It's standard slow speed manouevering practise, slip the clutch and regulate speed with the rear brake. Most bikes are a wet clutch (don't know about the FJR) and you must try pretty hard to burn one out.

ok, who was it that filmed me?

He was probably talking about the new module 1 of the UK test, similar as in; there's cones:D:D:rolleyes::rolleyes::D:D look here http://www.dsa.gov.uk/Documents/MPTC/2009/dsa_motorcycle_manoeuvre_diagram_mptc.pdf http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MGIzCyiiADY When this test was first...

I've not got another bike yet but it will be one of these or these The FZ1 is another option but the street triple was my dream bike before the fazer was recommended as a first bike.

    Quick low wave!!

My other (first) hobby is fishing, I'm sure I've got some land/waterscape pics in my PC files. As it happens I more often than not forget to take the camera with me, wether on the bike or in the car, I must try and remember in future! Is there a pic section on the forum? will that get a...

    Mobile Camera Question

We have a few mobile vans in our area and they always have the camera in front of the van capturing speeders from behind as they go past, something to do with fair warning for motorists I believe, but also, don't quote me on it, the DSA site may have some info.

    Mobile Camera Question

I doubt it very much, not unless you're riding a bike with a number plate on the front;) probably a benefit of riding a bike is that even mobile cameras are facing the wrong way when you approach them, and, if you were "hypothetically" moving at a fair rate of knots, by the time any camera was...

what does a new yamaha fz6 cost in your country?

Where?? I'm finding a grand more http://www.5-ways.co.uk/detail.asp?id=721 for a new FZ6, the reason I ask is I'm considering a FZ1 since I started taking pillion and perhaps the price would be in proportion.

    bd43's 07 Headlight Mod Part 2

Great mod that I'll be doing myself! Just as an aside, I was told, rightly or wrongly that all bikes with twin headlights only have one functionally wired up dipped beam because of EU laws and it only applies to bikes manufactured after a certain date, that would explain the vacant pin space...
