Is it easy to fit? I did think about it when ordering the bike but it totally went out of my mind with all the excitement ;)

    Double standards p*ss me off!

I'm glad to hear so many stories about this, I had to fill up for the first time the other day and I did not know the correct manor. At the time I removed my helmet and paid in store, think I'll settle for the paying at pump option form now on.

    Security

Any idea where my best UK dealer for claymores would be? perryn the chain sort of droops towards the floor (what don't these days) I try to place it at the top of the gas pipe and the d lock goes round a spoke at the same time to be on the safe side.

How many miles on Reserve ?

I just hit my reserve for the first time! Yeah I know but I've not seen the flashing block yet and the F Trip thingie. Ended up going a good 2 miles before filling. I've covered 135 miles since picking the bike up; that looks to be a bit poor on the economy side compared to others?

    Security

Just wanted to get some views and ideas on bike security. Due to a town house nature I have no garage, no access to back garden and only a small patch of bricked area outside the front to store my bike. So I invested in a good heavy duty chain and D lock from Oxford Products which I use to...

    What do you look like?

Not got many pictures of me, I'm normally other side of the glass. The missus did get this one of me: Found this one, having just totally killed my bike:

    Snake.

The only snake you see in the UK is the one in Anaconda (wow what a film) That said I did hear that the 'common grass snake' is making a come back in my area. I think it looks more like a worm than your snakes!

    Other Hobbies

Mark up another cyclist. I grew up on a farm so started with knobbly tires, but in the last couple of years I've moved over to the road side of things. Hope to get a few big rides in next year, if the FZ6 does not get in the way ;)

Slow puncture that cannot be repaird !!??

I know nothing of a motorcycle tire but I can share some thoughts on the 'slime' products on bicycles; never use them to rely on. Yep they work great and patching the whole but it is never fixed, just a temp fix. They create one hell of a mess and if you put to much in like quoted they...

    Tally Ho! Another Brit

Hate to say it but not much riding so far, but did manage to get the crash bobbins installed last night; with a bit of help from a work colleague turned motorbike guru. Those cans look pretty damn impressive, have you used a Power Commander thing with the install? Still a bit confused about them

    What revs

I'm guessing that the idea of hitting the high rev's goes against your nature, especially if you have stepped out of a car, it sure does for me. When I took my test it was on a CB500 and the instructor had to keep telling me to hold onto the gears longer. I would get to a point and change...

    Tally Ho! Another Brit

My brother is coming round at 8:30 to give me a lift to the dealer, that is like nearly an hour away! In true Brit fashion I will just sit here and have another cup of tea ;)

    Tally Ho! Another Brit

Good luck with the install Jonac. Obviously my mind has already drifted onto tuned exhausts and I hate to say I'm really feeling the Two Brothers. But then I'm sitting here waiting for collection time in the morning, just like being 12 years old all over again!

    Any Mac users?

Cheers for the replies, I have found the solution. The quick style sheet selector in the bottom; if I have it on MNS7 Liquid then the style sheet goes all screwy and I end up with white text on a white background. Shifting over to something else solves the problem; joy! BTW I did try the...

    Having Trouble With Site

Think you might have cracked it, just tried on a different machine and everything back to normal. I also found using a different browser sorted the problem, but I also solved my 'other' problem at the same time. Cheers!

    Recomend a torque wrench

I needed a torque wrench that went down to 6nm. Ended up buying the Argos special which does not go down low enough but at £15 I'm not losing sleep! When I get to the bike maintainence part I might just admit defeat and take it to a mechanic.

    motorcycle test

Congratulations, but like you say a bit concerning. Like the chap said carry on with the training, it will make you a better rider and increase your confidence. Over here in the UK they are cutting down on all new drivers; motorcycle and car. Next year it will be even harder to obtain a...

how many riders don't have a license or...

I voted for license but no insurance, but before I get escorted to the door let me explain. I'm fully licensed and insured but I only carry my license in my wallet. In the UK if you are stopped you are given a '7 day wonder', seven days to produce all your paperwork at the local police...

    Downshifting question

perryn I was taught a very similar method with the feet thing, the instructor called it the "Hendon Shuffle" which now makes some sense. But the idea was to always have a brake covered at any given time, was a strange feeling at first but if it helped me pass then I figured it was worth it.
