    Global Warming Causes

D-mac, I too am really surprised. There is NO question about the cause of global warming. It is true that there have been ice ages in the past, and that the earth cools and warms in cycles, but there has never been a cooling period so rapid as the one we are experiencing now. The current...

Tail Packs - Who uses them? I do!!!!!

Yeah, the Kreiga looks super nice, I'll probably pick one up as soon as the funds allow it. I don't think I'll ever give up the bungee net though, as they allow you to carry stuff that wouldn't fit in any kind of bag. :)

FZ1 looks more compact than the FZ6

I'm not a huge mod guy, so I hadn't really thought about it that way. That huge fart cannon on the FZ1 really does look stupid if you ask me.

    Exhaust smell with passenger?

Strange, I have never noticed any smell at all and I have used a bungee net to secure a great many things to the back of the bike. My wife has never complained either. I have had bikes that made me stink, but the FZ6 isn't one of them.

FZ1 looks more compact than the FZ6

I don't like the exhaust on the fz1, I think the exhaust alone makes it look less compact.

Tail Packs - Who uses them? I do!!!!!

Don't forget about the power of the bungee net. I used a bungee net for about 2000 miles before I found the Givi cases on craigs list and welded up the top case rack for the thrift store top case. I rode another 2,500 miles or so with the set up pictured. For me, wind was never an issue and...

    hit and run...

The same thing happend with one of my scooters once. It was parked in a parking lot and someone tried to back in to the space and didn't notice the scoot. She left a note, but couldn't figure out how to put it on the center stand so she leaned it up against a tree. Also, she put my helmet on...

What to see and what to avoid

This ride is amazing, you can't go wrong on this one. Riding the tail of the dragon reminded me a lot of the alpine loop except that the dragon is wider and smoother.

    Givi hard cases on order...

I have the side cases and a homemade rack with some janky old honda top case. The hardest part of installing the givi side case holders was getting the bottom bolt for the exhaust bracket to go in. I spent about an hour and a half on one side alone.

    FZ6 on Race Gas!

Another point to clarify, octane is not something that is added to gas. It's just a measurement of what pressure is required to cause the fuel to pre ignite.

    Transporting bike in van

A trailer would really be your best option here, once you get used to pulling one it's really going to be the easiest thing for a variety of reasons. You should be able to buy a folding ramp at any motorcycle shop if you decide the van is the way to go. Bear in mind that once you get the...

What to see and what to avoid

Jacksonville, Fl If you happen to be in Jacksonville FL and decide you would like to spend the night on the beach, don't do it at neptune beach. I was arrested for camping on the beach, though I didn't see any signs prohibiting it. The cop eventually let me go, but he was a real dick about...

    Pair?

Don't remove your emmsions equipment. That stuff is there for a reason, the air quality in our citys is terrible and the damage to the environment that we are doing by driving cars and motorcycles is bad enough as it is. Besides, it's probably illegal where you live. Is it really worth it...

    sick and tired of puig

Dag yo, I was thinking of buying one of these to give it a shot. I rode my FZ6 about 2500 miles last week and the only thing I really wanted was a bit more wind protetion. I didn't even mind the stock seat. I'll buy that thing off you anyway just to give it a try if you're sellin'.

Crazy for wanting a career overhaul?

I majored in computer science and worked in the field for about three years before discovering that what I really wanted to do was sales. I did some sales in college but looked at it as a way to pay the bills, not a career. Once I got done with school and realized I didn't enjoy the work I was...

How many miles did you get out of your Stock Rear Tire?

I got about 7k out of the front and 8.5k out of the rear (bridgestones). I left Orlando, FL thinking my rubber was fine for a cross country trip. I only made it to Jacksonville FL before noticing a shimmy in the front end when I took my hands off the bars. After checking the tire pressure I...

    Center stand technique

I have a pretty tough time doing it that way. The only way I can do it easily is by pulling up.
