    FZ6 power restriction?

I know, I assumed it would be something like that when I bought it, but its difficult to find any specifics in the public domain, that is - google. The bike was built to this spec, in the factory, when I ordered it. And it is that factory that I was at yesterday. I probably wouldn't have bought...

    FZ6 power restriction?

Have an update now, bad news..... I went out to the yamaha factory before work this morning, asked them about the restriction on my bike. According to the guys who built the bike, unrestricting it is not a reasonable thing to do.:( I didn't get a lot of detail, as I was kind of pressed for...

    Riding in the rain?

This is a good summary. But I think its also important to remember that the visor will fog up a LOT more in the rain, and most of the cars on the road will forget how to drive, and give up on observation completely. So do pedestrians who are trying to get out of the rain asap. Oh and the...

    FZ6 power restriction?

Taking the throttle plate off sounds good, but tbh i think it would take me longer than a week to get up to the high revs in the high gears! Probably worth a shot though ... :ban: Its the gearing thing that really has me confused\concerned. Maybe there's just one way to find out... Yep, I...

    FZ6 power restriction?

lol. great dream! Ah its a terrible state of affairs. I don't think they bug the bike though, also the guys who restrict it wouldn't have any connection with the police or insurance companies, so I doubt they would care much about WOT history, or anything else. What do...

    FZ6 power restriction?

I am clueless about engines and mechanics, so please be patient if I am talking nonsense:spank: or being stupid. There is some mystery about the details of power restriction. In Ireland when we first get our full driving license we are restricted, for two years, to a bike of 33bhp or...

    The police?

I had an encounter this morning! Never been pulled over though, just at checkpoints. I was running a bit late for work today, was doing the speed limit in some sparse traffic, on a single lane road. Was just dodging around some potholes when I got overtaken by a bike cruising happily past all...

Motorcycle Etiquette Question - Sidewalk Parking

I do the same - there is usually some immovable object, like a bin or a lamp post or something, that is obstructing the flow of human traffic. If I park in line with that then the pedestrians should just flow around the bike like a river round a rock. just my 2c. Also, I like to think that...

    Dash wiring

maybe a noob issue, but that clutch cable can still be a danger: On the way home just now, noticed my indicaters weren't working, and something seemed wrong with the display. Headlight and highbeams were working. Reluctantly, I pulled over to check the rear indicators and brake lights. rear...

Has your bike ever hit the ground?

phew, nearly dropped it there last week: Stopped on a down ramp into a car park, foot on the brake, and reached into my pocket for the swipe card (for the car park). Its a very steep, short slope, down to a gate. Not sure what happened, maybe my foot came off the brake for a sec, but...

The cold feet tour (Kouwepotentocht) 2007/2010 Holland

Well at that temperature and in the rain the 240 km might prove a kind of challenge anyway that wouldn't be for everybody... kind of an endurance thing. bet the bike will need a good wipe down afterwards. :D you should definitely get your gear sorted.

Possible to LOWER overall power temporarily?

There is the factory restrictor kit. X marks the restrictor plate. It stops the throttle cable there from being opened out fully, you can see the plates hitting eachother. All I know is what I can see there, on my bike. :( It won't stop you getting to 7-8k, but it will absolutely slow you...
