I'd think a full re-paint would look better with no changes in color thru out the tank / no blending... And it'd be easier for a professional painter to just shoot the entire tank vs blending in.... .

The amount of fuel shown is NOT NORMAL, even flooded. A failed carberator leaking internally might, but not a fuel injected engine. I would have your OEM Denso injectors serviced and re-install them to start with.. .

Re-build head / valve job /used head??? I wouldn't scrap the engine/bike for a couple of valves... .

87 regular, up to 10% E fuel, runs fine... I do, once in awhile add some non E fuel to it. Now I do add Yamaha's RingFree and "Gas Shok" to all my fuels. This stuff helps when making turns, especially in heavy traffic:

Ouch.... Is the "fairing stay", which holds the fairing, still straight as you look forward sitting on the bike? That usually gets bent on any tip over. Can you ride it with it bent, sure. I can't- it'd drive me nuts seeing everything crooked... I just looked and it is available if needed...
