As this thread has been resurrected , to address this ^^.. Changing out the throttle plate or modifying it allows full throttle (and HP): If there's additional restrictions for 33 HP, I'm not aware of it... . .

Always have your cams, crank mark and head surface with the chain taught and all slack at the tensioner. With chain stretch, get the intake lined up with the head, then the exhaust, then the crank as close as possible.. They may be off a knats hair but you'll know if your a full tooth off...

Cam lobes apparently are facing 180 to each other: Again, pic expires in 5 days:

There was a picture in the manual showing each cam, with the lobe orintation in that pic. I don't remember but it'd show, say cylinder 1 Intake cam with say the lobe up... Look over the manual again, it's there.. Dunno if this helps but here's a pic of my intake cam @TDC compression stroke...

Page 5-10 in the Yamaha shop manual (S2), goes into detail re which cam is which. .The sprockets are the same, cams are different. The shop manual shows the orientation (lobe direction) when properly assembled. Below pics expires in 7 days (so print it out) Page 5-14 in the manual also...

Thanks for the links, got em saved... Question, with the BD43 mod, I guess you'd use just the RS headlight outlet? Also, I see only 2 wires for each directional- Guess it eliminates the "running" filament of the ft directionals? No plan on going naked BUT, should/when the bike gets dropped...

You did a GREAT job with it... Looking back, the fairing was in a box and you did the Naked conversion, correct? I really like the headlight assembly/set up... Were those E Bay parts, etc for that mod? .

Bogging sounds more like a fueling system issue-specifically the injectors. That is, IF, all vacuum lines, everything under the tank is connected correctly and not leaking. .

I initially mentioned trimming down a feeler gauge, not spending $100 on a special tool. I posted the tool so Cliff and everyone else knew what I was talking about (a "drag" tool). As for the repair, there's several companies that sells pin's, IE...

The link for the tool above, checks how tight the pins are to each other when the connector is assembled. If there's a loose female pin, not holding the male tight, it'd be a bad connection... .
