who wants to ride Rt 7 Connecticut?

Keep me posted - I may want to get out one of these days. It's an awesome route, and you definitely should stop by Toymakers Cafe in Canaan. Also, on the way back (or there) make sure to go through the stretch between route 55 and New Milford it's south of where 55 intersects route 7) - good...

    Givi E52... too big?

Good point. I have to tuck in my arm to check if my V46 is still there, so if the difference in dimensions is only an inch or so on each side, it shouldn't be affected. But this is me - the only issue I haven't resolved is the rear view mirrors working with my 6'3 230lbs frame, so YMMV.

    Givi E52... too big?

I have a V46, and it to be honest E52 doesn't look that much bigger. To me, once it's there, it's there - 46, 52 and 55 liter cases do look that different. Maybe I'm just trying to convince myself - i'm about to pull a trigger on either E52 or 55

    New Member from Connecticut

Welcome from another (former, and hopefully future) CT resident. :welcome: The two-color is stock - I had exactly the same question about my (also '04) bike when I got it. The one thing i'd recommend checking is header bearing (although you are saying it's stable, so I'm assuming it's ok) -...

question on part numbers for some screws

Looks like i'm missing a couple of screws, and for the life of me i can't figure out the part #s for them: 1) screws used on lower cowling (I can't even find the cowling itself on any of the diagrams (yamaha, bikebandit, ronayers) 2) screws that attach the meter (the gauge) to the top...

NYC -> Boston MA... need advise

I'm with VEGASRIDER - stay away from I-95. We used to go to Maine almost every other weekend - Merritt to 91, to I-84 to I-90 - that's the way I'd go. I've done full I-95 every once in a while, and there were a couple of times it worked out ok, but I'd go through central CT.

    Cree LED H7 upgrade?

That's what I always thought too, but after reading a bit while i was looking at HID lights, it seems to me that the phrase "lightbulbs produce only small percentage of light and the rest as heat" - bucketed IR with actual heat (hey, it heats up the surrounding parts like glass of the lightbulb...

How do you prepare for a new riding season?

Mental Prep: Spending countless dark winter weekends re-watching MotoGP seasons while wearing full gear and slowly rocking back and forth. Riding Gear Inspection: Unpacking the latest "celebrate beginning of the new season" present to myself Bike Maintenance: unplugging the trickle charger...

    Cree LED H7 upgrade?

My understanding is that an LED can actually have more heat than incandescent even with lower input. Since IR output of incandescent lamp carries energy away and heats other surfaces, actual heat output of LED is higher even when input is lower (see the simplistic comparison 100W incandescent...

    Work/Life Balance

I'm on my fourth month of 16-hour days every day of the week plus a weekend here and there - not fun. Growing company, tons of work, tight deadlines, but I am getting fed up with this - if i wanted to work these hours, I'd go into management consulting or IB - i'd have the same insane hours (+...

Problem with Nolan N104 paint - Nolan replaced the helmet

I recently bought (stole, really - $300 at motorcyclegear.com) Nolan N104 HiViz Yellow helmet. I'm not going to sing praises to the helmet - I'll just say that it's great. When I got the helmet, I noticed a small bubble in paint on top of the helmet - I figured, I'd let it be, since it was...

NYC to Newburgh and back, possibly de-tour to NJ skyline drive - July 26th, 2014

it was a good ride. learned quite a bit in terms of gear: - A* gloves run small (ended up turning around and getting my old gloves - the brand new pair of SP-2 is going back to motorcyclegear) - cheapo handlebar 12V lighter/5V USB charger does not work for my phone. - Nolan N104 internal...
