Another "new" bike for me! It's Thunderace time!

I actually get quite fraught if i aint got anything much to tinker with.... I painted the race stand the TRX850 lives on, the other night...just because i wanted something to do, not because it needed it...but it does look schmick now! :D

Another "new" bike for me! It's Thunderace time!

Yeah, once you put it up against other bikes from the same segment, and era, it's specs stack up pretty well, especially, motor and suspension wise... A great value secondhand buy...bit of a sneaky "smart man's" bike.

Another "new" bike for me! It's Thunderace time!

The Shed door is always open....especially if you dont mind polishing, cleaning bikes, etc.... I presume that the detail i give it will be it's first real hardcore detail in it's 58000km, 15 year life! So i am expecting things to be well grubby in the nooks & crannies, that are hidden by...

This is very interesting...FZ8 for $6,400

Wouldn't buy an FZ8 if it was the last bike on the shelf! This stop gap bike has been a sales failure worldwide, and ate being discounted the world over now! For good reason...it's a half baked parts bin special, that is neither better than its predecessor the FZ6, or a genuine partner to the...

Another "new" bike for me! It's Thunderace time!

Am going to be tearing this bike down to it's motor, and frame, and giving it the detail of its lifetime over winter....the reason i bought it, cause i have run out of bikes that need tinkering with, in my shed! By summer next year, it will look, run, and handle like a different bike...but...

Another "new" bike for me! It's Thunderace time!

You might actually be surprised.....would like to see the dyno map for each bike, the YZF has a VERY FAT midrange, and a very strong, flat, torque curve! :D

Another "new" bike for me! It's Thunderace time!

Not a lot of the Thunderaces around, as they were seen as a little heavy to compete with the Fireblade, and Gixxer 750, which were flavour of the month at the time, and then when Yamaha bought out the R1 in 1998, the Thunderace was kept as part of the Yamaha line up as a Sportstourer in some...

Another "new" bike for me! It's Thunderace time!

I think i may have to come home via Melbourne! Cause the roads through the "Normal" way are all flooded!!! So yeah, it's my shout for Coffee, or more likely, a meal this time....i wont be in a hurry, as if i go via Melbourne, i will be staying in Melbourne overnight...

Another "new" bike for me! It's Thunderace time!

Well, since i sold the FZ6 in my shed, that was set up for touring, and 2 up duties, i really havent had a suitable bike to take the Lady in my life for a decent bike ride....my black FZ6 has no pillion seat, and the pillion seat on my TRX850 is pretty much a devise of torture for unsuspecting...

who else got stuck in a cop roadblock?

I got pulled over for a license and rego check last weekend. The Police Offier was more interested in my bike than anything, asking me what i had done to the motor, etc...in a friendly way, he even knew that the TRX850 was voted bike of the year in 1996 in Australia.... Once he got...
