    Dual headlight mod

Yes, Adding a wire between those 2 points would be what we commonly call the BD43 mod. There were other bikes (not FZ6) that had dual head lights similar to the FZ6 headlight configuration but had different wiring than the FZ6. This would require a different approach. I used to make a relay...

    Dual headlight mod

This is correct. The H4 lamp has design such as it was probably more economical to create the high beam function with it as apposed to the H7. Since they weren't using the low beam filament they saved the wire cost. Unfortunately we are not allowed to use Yamaha materials anymore. I wish we...

    Dual headlight mod

Instead of using the headlight mod wire for power to your headlights you want to use the original black with green tracer wire that should still exist in the harness that originally supplied the OEM headlights. Use the black with yellow tracer for your high beam shutter control. The wire you're...

    Y-shaped cooling pipe

If i remember correctly that "Y' assembly provides coolant to that oil cooler assembly. I use a product called Ospho. It converts iron oxide to iron phosphate. I have had really good results with this product. I used it on a security door and have not had to repaint it in 7 years...

    Dual headlight mod

There are LED and HID projector headlights. They require putting your headlamp assembly in the oven at a specific temperature for a specific amount of time to separate the lens from the headlamp assembly, install the projector assemblies and reassemble the lens to the headlamp assembly. If the...

    Dual headlight mod

In your case you want the original wire configuration controlling your headlights. Which headlight mod has been done on the bike? There is the original headlamp wire which is a black with a green tracer. This wire should supply both your power supplies for your projectors. Then there is a...

    Is this mounting safe ?

It is a possible interference problem with rotation of the wheel if there is a failure. It's probably okay but if it fails it could be really bad. As for the inside rubber. There is a double sided tape made by 3M that is likely to be thin enough that would give good grip on the inside of the...

    Oil Fitler won't budge

Sorry... I was joking about gum, JB Weld and hockey stick tape but what Gary says will likely work. Clean the filter casing from any oil, put some inner tube rubber on it and get a strap wrench on it. That little extra rubber helps with grip and torque. I usually add a few curse words and if...

    Oil Fitler won't budge

Put some bubble gum in the hole, then some JB Weld and then wrap it with some of that hockey stick tape! Lol! Actually I use that tape on my hiking staff and drum sticks.

    Oil Fitler won't budge

Hard to advise without a picture. The heat should help. Can you run the motor? Is the oil filter still holding oil? If it is warm the motor by running it and the heat the filter with a heat gun.

    Clutch cable maintenance?

I remember @TownsendsFJR1300 once had a picture of a compromised clutch cable That looked like it had a nylon interior sleeve which would be pretty much inert to chemical reaction so you should be good in that sense. As always try to stay away from the standard WD40 water displacement lube...

Low range from a fuel tank or ??

Also You can disconnect the battery for 30 minutes in case volatile memory in the the ECM had learned and bad words for some reason. Other suspects might be air temp sensor, air pressure sensor and throttle position sensor. Gary's idea of a possible dirty air filter is spot on.

Low range from a fuel tank or ??

Welcome to this great forum! A look in the fuel tank might help. Could be a bad sending unit.

    Relay click

Welcome to our great forum! First I don't think there were any naked FZ6 meant for the US market So your bike was likely faired. That shouldn't mean there is an electrical problem unless some one was not experienced with electrical. I would start by being sure the ground from the negative...
