Question FZ6 Wont start after accident

Welcome to our great forum! Also because it sounds like the instrument readout has been smashed and if there was any short circuit, a fuse may have blown.

    Old Member Welcome

Yup! I know things.... I do stuff.... Glad you're on the mend Ade! Had an umbilical hernia when I was 25. I didn't even know I had it. My wife discovered it. That was 50 years ago. I know this is a family oriented forum but...Imagine the intimacy when you're young like that. Now she says...

Need Help HID identification and resolution

Just for S+G's here's what you might have on the bike. https://www.amazon.com/Morimoto-Elite-System-Ballasts-5500K/dp/B00TAPGCPS I don't know if your headlamp housing has been modified so when you go back to OEM you may need this adapter. # 5 on this part fiche...

Need Help HID identification and resolution

Morimoto is a popular brand I've seen installed over the years. The high beam function on HID lamps is a mechanical shutter that is actuated by a solenoid in the lamp assembly. The lamp has a gas that needs to be started with a high voltage pulse. That high voltage is regulated by ballast within...

    Question About FZ6's choke

I saw a picture where it looked like there was a plug assembly going to the IAC and thought there was some electrical control but it was part of a harness that routed through the assembly. As Scott pointed out,(reinventing the wheel) I wonder what other advantage the IAC has over the previous...

    Question About FZ6's choke

    FZ6R Speed/Tach Wiring

Welcome to our great forum! I believe the FZ6R is a variant of the FZ6. The engine is the same displacement but differs in performance probably due to cam and other aspects related to ECU programming, Regardless. I know that the FZ6 ECU sends it's data via a data line to the instrument cluster...

    Question About FZ6's choke

There is a coolant temperature connection to the throttle body assembly. This is controlled by input to the ECU from the air temperature and coolant temperature sensors. I would imagine the control function of enrichment might be effected at the IAC valve as well as ECU control of the fuel...

    Clicking solanoid

You should see +12 vdc at the red/white wire from that 20 amp fuse. If not there is a loss of +12 vdc red wire from the battery or that fuse is open. I've also seen fuse holders fail. You might try disconnecting the 2 yellow with tracer wires from the decomp assembly and connect those wires to...

    Clicking solanoid

Interesting. There should be a home run right from the positive battery terminal to those two 20 amp fuses. Are you saying the is no battery voltage at the fuse that supplies the red/white wire?

Thank you for the schematic. Interesting how they've changed the safety protocol. They achieve the same functions.

    Help technical issue

Did you ever get the new CPS installed? Are you smelling raw fuel? I'm also thinking if the ECU sees a CPS signal, but the CPS is for some reason is doubling or triple the trigger the ECU might flood the mix. This could also happen at the ECU. Make sure the ECU plug pins are clean. Also check...

Dies when put in gear. Help!

Welcome to our great forum! Also. There is that module I always refer to. The "Starter interrupt-cut off relay assembly" Often this unit becomes damaged during bike theft. If the wires have been properly repaired and switches are proved out, the module is suspect. Your bike is the FZ6R so the...

Need Help SOLVED: 05 starts on 1 cylinder only under full throttle - fuel issue?

That's awesome! Yeah a big vacuum leak will cause a lean out. LOL!

Need Help SOLVED: 05 starts on 1 cylinder only under full throttle - fuel issue?

One of the things with the pump may be volume at pressure. I've heard of fuel pressure looking good but when the throttle is opened and duty cycle of injectors increase there is a lack of delivery of needed volume. This would be evident by seeing the required pressure but a drop when the engine...
