It is just a coil, so I can't see it being an issue and I am REALLY sure that it would not throw a 33 code. I recommend an easy test. Swap the coils and see what happens to the error code. If the code changed to a 34, you have a bad coil. If it stays a 33, then it is the wiring or connectors...

I am of the opinion that if you want to hurt 1 of these motors, you either need to try your hardest or neglect it. We have heard from LOTS of FZ6 others worldwide and I cannot remember a single one that was well maintained and just mysteriously failed. Not 1. Here is a secret.... the FZ6...

Gary is right.... the one in the better condition is the best bike. I have an 05, and I agree with Scott that the 4 piston front brakes and revised tach are step ups, but I have never ended a ride thinking 'that would have been so much better with a nicer dash'. And then there are mods...

R6 forks from the 2003 - 2004 model year are the most poplar and easiest to fit upgrades. It would be helpful if you send in some pictures of your setup to make sure that you don't have some sort of one-off upgrade.

How many Miles (KMs?) do you have? I would not agree that, after a certain mileage, ECU failures are highly suspect. Not to say that this can't happen, just to say that if you are looking for a common problem, the ECU is not high on that list. I have 73,000 mi (117,000 km) and these bikes...

Final report - worth every penny. Much more comfortable than the stock seat (not really tough to do), and was nearly fatigue-free after a 4+ hour ride yesterday. Much cheaper than a new Corbin. I hope it is a durable, but for 1/2 the price it is worth the chance... .. and Gary is too! :)

In the end all I needed to do was to put 2 washers under the tang in the seat pan and it latches with a moderate of effort, only slightly more than needed for the stock seat. Expecting to get a ride in mid afternoon. Can't wait to see how much of a difference it makes.
