    FZ6 Owner again…and troubleshooting already

As long as your ecu is in good shape, consider the cop mod. Did mine years ago and never looked back. Works like a charm. I always hated the spark plug caps on the oem coils.

    IGNITION REPLACEMENT - please help

Not sure if anyone here can help you. This is the FZ6 forum. The FZ6R is a different bike, despite the similar name. Keep an eye out, someone might know the answer to your question, but in the mean time you should post it at https://600cc.org/. This is our sister forum dedicated to your...

    FZ6 fork mod recommendations

Welcome to the forum. If all you want is to adapt the stock forks to the weights you want to carry, I recommend going to the Race Tech site (https://www.racetech.com/) and use their selection tools to figure out the correct spring rates. You can even call to work out the selection with one of...

Need Help Which way do the ignition coils plug in?

It is just a coil, so I can't see it being an issue and I am REALLY sure that it would not throw a 33 code. I recommend an easy test. Swap the coils and see what happens to the error code. If the code changed to a 34, you have a bad coil. If it stays a 33, then it is the wiring or connectors...

How much milage is too much?

I am of the opinion that if you want to hurt 1 of these motors, you either need to try your hardest or neglect it. We have heard from LOTS of FZ6 others worldwide and I cannot remember a single one that was well maintained and just mysteriously failed. Not 1. Here is a secret.... the FZ6...

How much milage is too much?

Oh I hope not! My 05 has a little under 75,000 miles and still running strong. It's not the mileage, it's the maintenance.......

    2005 vs 2006 vs 2007 FZ6

Gary is right.... the one in the better condition is the best bike. I have an 05, and I agree with Scott that the 4 piston front brakes and revised tach are step ups, but I have never ended a ride thinking 'that would have been so much better with a nicer dash'. And then there are mods...

And Another Bike Followed Me Home

Oh MAN! When I got back into riding I realized that I was likely only going to have 1 bike at a time...... and I wanted a Red or Yellow ST. Looks beautiful

    FZ6 cables.

What R6 Forks do I have?

Another FYI, looks like you have an FZ1 bar as well (me too). It reduces the wrist bend and eases the strain on the hands.

What R6 Forks do I have?

Yep, 2003-04. I have the same forks on my 05......

What R6 Forks do I have?

R6 forks from the 2003 - 2004 model year are the most poplar and easiest to fit upgrades. It would be helpful if you send in some pictures of your setup to make sure that you don't have some sort of one-off upgrade.

    Parting out my 2008 FZ6

Thanks. Not sure the depth of disassembly you plan to go to, but I would be interested in all the bracketing from the reservoir itself all the way up to where it attaches to the frame near the RR. Let me know it you are open to chat about it.

Hey guys, does anyone know what swing arms are compatible with the FZ6 S1

I did the S2 swingarm on my 05 S1 in 2009 and it is an easy swap. See post 283... https://www.600riders.com/threads/what-did-you-do-to-your-bike-today-thread.40008/page-15 Don't over think things. Just get out and ride....

Adapting a Shad S2 seat to an S1?

Ha, mine isn't 1/2 inch, but it definitely doesn't sit down as far as it should in the rear..... Zero impact on function, just odd

    Anyone use a push-button starter?

I am getting ready to do my 1st compression test on my 05 and I thought it would be easier with a push-button starter. I've only used one on a car, where I energize the starter solenoid. Since we have no solenoid, I guess I could energize the starter's B+ lead, but that's going to draw a lot...

    Fz6 error 34

How many Miles (KMs?) do you have? I would not agree that, after a certain mileage, ECU failures are highly suspect. Not to say that this can't happen, just to say that if you are looking for a common problem, the ECU is not high on that list. I have 73,000 mi (117,000 km) and these bikes...

Adapting a Shad S2 seat to an S1?

Final report - worth every penny. Much more comfortable than the stock seat (not really tough to do), and was nearly fatigue-free after a 4+ hour ride yesterday. Much cheaper than a new Corbin. I hope it is a durable, but for 1/2 the price it is worth the chance... .. and Gary is too! :)

Adapting a Shad S2 seat to an S1?

In the end all I needed to do was to put 2 washers under the tang in the seat pan and it latches with a moderate of effort, only slightly more than needed for the stock seat. Expecting to get a ride in mid afternoon. Can't wait to see how much of a difference it makes.
