Adapting a Shad S2 seat to an S1?

Thanks I tried pushing down hard, but admittedly not as hard as I could. I began to think that if I forced it, I would not be able to unlatch it... Once the rain halts I expect to take a closer look. Perhaps I need to shim the bracket down a little with some washers to move the engagement...

Adapting a Shad S2 seat to an S1?

I have a used Corbin that I bought from a forum member years ago and it has seen better days. With Spencer having retired, there are very limited options for FZ6 seats. I looked at a Shad, and on their website it says it fits the F^ with no years mentioned. I decided to buy it from Revzilla at...

    fz6n 05 error code 34

Be aware that the issue Okle001 was having might NOT be the issue you are having. Most symptoms have MANY possible root causes. You have 1 easy and fairly conclusive test to perform. Swap the 2 coils and see if the problem moves. If it moves then it is the coil and if it doesn't move then...

    Rear shock (probably) leaking

FYI you CANNOT ignore the problem. Loss of damping in the rear can lead to all sorts of instability and is dangerous. I put the Ohlins on my 05 S1 and it is marvelous and expensive. I agree with Gary, at minimum you should be able to find a used genuine Yamaha FZ6 rear shock on eBay...

    Chain and sprocket sizes

Correct. When I compare my indicated speed vs the speed shown on my GPS, the speedo typically reads anywhere from 3 to 6 mph higher. Keeps me out of trouble :)

Need Help 2007 FZ6 S2 Fazer Severe Loss of Power ( galloping ) 9k RPM upwards

Easy now..... More info please. Does the fuel pump prime when you turn the key on? Are you certain that the kill switch is in the run position? Does it crank? Remember that it will only crank if it is in Neutral or the clutch lever is pulled in AND the side-stand is up. It ran before...

Need Help 2007 FZ6 S2 Fazer Severe Loss of Power ( galloping ) 9k RPM upwards

Before you get too deep into a teardown, ALWAYS start with the most probable. https://www.600riders.com/threads/the-kill-switch-problem.58255/ I rebuilt mine a few years ago using the link above as a guide simply because I knew it was a question of WHEN, not IF the switch became a problem. It...

Need Help 2007 FZ6 S2 Fazer Severe Loss of Power ( galloping ) 9k RPM upwards

The kill switch is a common weak part on the bike. It is not uncommon for it to become dirty, and one of those symptoms is a big impact on power at high rpm. This is caused by the high frequency vibrations of the upper revs. To test, you can use a wire to jump the switch closed. Or you can...

    gear indicator for ABS model

The ABS bikes get their speed from one of the ABS wheel sensors. The non-ABS bikes have a separate speed sensor in the transmission. That is why there is a different gear indicator for non-ABS bikes.....

2022 Maintenance and Mods all done!

So when I was troubleshooting my intermittent RR issue before I replaced the unit, I bought this little LED from Roadstercycle (towards the bottom of this page https://www.roadstercycle.com/ ) . It has a different color / flash pattern for different voltage levels, and I was able to determine...

Do Engine Guards Protect Tank and Fairings?

2 years ago I had the unfortunate opportunity to test the protection of frame sliders (I don't have engine guards). https://www.600riders.com/threads/might-be-getting-another-fz6.59671/ I hit some diesel fuel in the middle of a 270 degree on ramp. The bike was really leaned over so it didn't...

Intermittent Death - Everything Else Works Fine ? !

+1 for Gary's suggestion. You would NOT be the 1st rider to fall victim to the engine cut-off switch. Very common.

    Gaskets for aftermarket exhaust?

Just got back from my check ride and everything works great! The exhaust sounds awesome, but I will need to put my ear plugs in for every, a good idea anyway, but a MUST with the Dominators. Will be putting a few miles on today and tomorrow for sure.
