    Catastrophic engine damage/noise?

It’s the Crank shaft that would be damaged, not the cam shaft(s)…although the cams could be damaged from the metal circulating through the engine (the bearing are soft material). I’d focus on inspection of the Crank shaft for now. A crank swap would require splitting the case

    Catastrophic engine damage/noise?

In reviewing the FSM manual and looking at my spare engine, I believe that Scott is correct that the bearing shells can be replaced by removing the oil pan. With that said - your engine destroyed one or more bearings so I wouldn't be surprised if the crank itself is scored/damaged. You won't...

    Catastrophic engine damage/noise?

I agree that it does look like a bearing has disintegrated. The only other thing I can think of is the clutch, however I’d expect to see a lot of gray material as well.

    Catastrophic engine damage/noise?

I like the lose spark theory…especially since you had recently changed your plugs. I spun a bearing in a Neon RT about 25 years ago during an autoX event. Sounded nothing like that. In fact, it could only be heard while the engine was under load. It takes a lot of effort to ruin a bearing...

    Buzzing prominent on right side

And since we are talking about sync’ing and using a synchronometer, it is IMPORTANT that you confirm that all four instruments agree with each other by checking the readings on the same cylinder prior to using the sync. You need to confirm the accuracy of the instrument prior to use otherwise...

    New project 1986 FZ600

Interesting. The fabricator had some skills. The fairing on the CB looks great, yet the same design looks horrible on that SV…almost criminal.

    New project 1986 FZ600

I have not seen a Skorpion wearing a sport touring suit. What in the world is attached to the left pannier....is that an umbrella holder :) The MZ doesn't look like it needs much attention, however the Bridestone is just screaming "please love me".

    03 foxeye ignition barrel

Dave, as mentioned by Motogiro, we would need the schematic to determine which wires to jump. Also confirm that you do not have an emobilizer Are there two connectors?

    03 foxeye ignition barrel

Hey Dave Yeah, 2002-2003 FZS600 is going to be unique. It’s possible that the switch is shared with another model, such as the FZS1000 since they share a similar instrument panel. Is that a 4-wire single connector assembly? You may be able to adapt another unit to work. Before you spend a lot...

    Coolant flush

Also, make sure to “burp” the system to remove any air pockets. You will know if you have trapped air if you have a high temperature after just a few minutes of riding.

    Winter 2025/2026 Project

Boy oh boy do I hate waiting for parts. Especially when it's four little $3 parts. I used a 4into1 carb kit which is very complete and has a good reputation. I used one of their kits on my CB900 and it worked great. While I waited for that to arrive (just 3 days) I vapor blasted the carb bodies...
