Please share this urgently!

I've just heard that the UK Government are planning on changing the emissions regulations on vehicles *including* bikes, so they cannot be modified such that their emissions are greater than what they were designed for.

- Their own proposal, however, admits that they have *no* evidence that this is a problem, nor, indeed, did they actually bother to *look* for any!
- They also do not appear to appreciate that bikes reduce congestion and, thus, emissions from other vehicles.
- There is a consultation which ends THIS SUNDAY, 6th of September, so get your responses in ASAP, before we risk getting fined anything from £1000 to an unlimited amount!

Here's a video from MAG about this:

Here's the consultation link:- https://www.gov.uk/government/consu...oad-vehicles-regulating-environmental-impacts

Please respond to the survey by Sunday 6th of September.

Anytime we modify exhaust there may be a difference in emissions. How much? In the US we have federal standards that would likely be followed by state regulations.
In the US emission rules prohibit the modification of exhaust but, the law is obviously hardly followed.
I admit I don't like stock exhausts. Besides not being seen maybe they'd hear you.

You'd have to get past these guys to make a differnece.

There are problems with some vehicles, eg people removing particulate filters from diesel engines which might give them more power, but which also puts a lot more pollution into the air.

Also there's a certain group who run their car engines rich and put a spark plug into their exhausts to make them fart because they're desperate for attention (see Cartman above ;-) )

But including bikes seems to be just someone being too lazy to look for any figures to see if it would actually make any difference.
