I did but only because I was working on the headstock bearing so the whole front had to come off. Calipers are an easy job. 2 bolts each side if I remember correctly.

New chain and sprockets at 59,500 miles, steering head bearings changed at 60,900 miles. Good tires, R&G crash bungs, wide Renthal bars, high touring screen, K&N Air filter. All three keys (including red one). A little rust started to show up by the rear right foot peg (see last picture). Bike...

Is the torx size T45? I am putting in new steering bearings (All Balls) but having problems with putting the races in. It just won't go in all the way. Is it a good idea to undo these security bolts a little bit to allow the upper race into place then tighten again?

19mm spindle key, wheel off in one minute. Don't do what I did trying to improvise tools (19mm bolt and nuts) and loose half a day...

Thanks for the replies guys. I still did not get the wheel off today. The bolt I was using just snapped. I guess I'll try to get a spindle key tomorrow... I got everything else off for headstock bearing replacement... wheel and forks off tomorrow... this was a long day. :-)

Guys I'm stuck. Just can't get the front wheel axle off. Got the calipers off, undid the pinch bolt, and trying to undo the axle with the bolt and nuts method :-). It just won't give. Is this reverse thread or something???

Agree! He hit the road at 50-60mph tops! Down at 120mph with no proper gear will shave everything off to the bone!!!

Why did you have them checked? I was going to have mine checked for the 60000mls service but engine runs fine and I'd rather not pay the money for nothing.

I just bought a 2006 model with 59,000 mls. Very well looked after. Engine sounds/pulls perfect.

I am considering Polaroid XS100. It seems good quality an cheap compared to the others. Does anyone have any experience with these?
