    fork seal replacement help

Alright... I'm knee deep in replacing the seals on my '09. Realizing I need more parts, I started checking out this kit. It appears that they only have a kit for the FZ6R, do you have a part number for the FZ6?

    Can anyone ID this part?

Thanks! Looks like I'm missing one, but at least the one I do have is in place now. Sent from my SM-G930U using Tapatalk

    Can anyone ID this part?

I ended up finding it by looking at part diagrams online. These are plugs that go into the front of the inside of the frame, there should be 2. Sent from my SM-G930U using Tapatalk

    Can anyone ID this part?

I was wrestling with putting "cover 2" back in (the pain in the ass rubber membrane below the battery) and when I was done I found this on the ground. I cant remember ever seeing this part anywhere, can anyone ID it or give a hint where it goes? I'm looking in the service manual now, but it's...

Engine Timing appears to be off (stretched timing chain?)

I've not heard the engine detonate or ping. However, it does sound "different" now. The problem started during my ownership. The bike ran great when purchased and then one day, not so much.. You mentioned it sounds like a quieter version of the blown up clutch embedded gear bike. FZ6 experts...

Engine Timing appears to be off (stretched timing chain?)

Small update, took temps after getting home from work yesterday afternoon. This may thrown off results since the radiator fan was running. In a nutshell, each header was showing anywhere from 270F to 310F. I didn't see any cylinders that were outside of that range at any time, but they did vary...

Engine Timing appears to be off (stretched timing chain?)

Put in the cleaned injectors. Runs better now, the fueling and throttle response is much improved. Time will tell if the hard starts and bogging are also cured. BUT.. vibrations are still there.. At this point, I don't know what else to look at. I think it's time to start looking lower on the...

Engine Timing appears to be off (stretched timing chain?)

To test the resistance of the HT lead, I just put the meter leads inside the bottom of the HT lead where the spark plugs would connect and the top where the wire screws in. I wasn't aware that the HT lead came apart, that may be a better way to test (and inspect). If I'm feeling up to tearing...

Engine Timing appears to be off (stretched timing chain?)

Last week I grabbed some coils with wires and HT leads from ebay. Hard to know the source of the parts (geographically speaking), but they were from an S1. They appear to be identical to mine, but none the less I set out to installing them this morning. While I had the old and new parts...

Thanks for the reference, some really good threads over there. Looks like I need to contact Flagship Marine in Punta Gorda.

Engine Timing appears to be off (stretched timing chain?)

Well gentlemen, it's been fun so far. but this journey seems to just beginning. Good news is that I got everything assembled (thank the gods (and Scott ) for the FSM, getting the coils and wires properly arranged would've been nigh impossible without it). Brakes feel GREAT, new...

What do you guys normally use to adjust the strap? Pliers? Bench vise? Sent from my SM-G930U using Tapatalk

Engine Timing appears to be off (stretched timing chain?)

Got the new timing chain on tonight, everything is lining up *perfectly* now. I feel better having replaced it while everything was still opened up. Chain definitely had a little stretch to it. Got everything torqued back down and will get the rest buttoned back up by the weekend (hopefully)...
