If Performance Cycles isn't helpful there is also Stone's Custom Motorcycles in Northborough. They largely deal with cruisers but I've heard they're friendly and seemed so when I got my inspection done a few weeks ago. They might just pass you as-is, or have suggestions on making a new bracket.
siksoundz did start it back in July, I had just been bad about checking the forums since buying mine in June. I guess I was a bit too busy enjoying the bike on my own. Great to ride rt 2 all the way out to North Adams, then head up into Vermont before heading back. Especially the bit of rt 2...
I'm right near Worcester in Westborough right now, and soon moving to Northborough. I actually met a fellow FZ6 rider while grabbing lunch at Chipotle in Marlborough today. Being my usual self though I'm not sure I remembered his name right.
I had found a dealer that was willing to sell a new one for $6300 which from what I can tell was invoice price in 2009, but still seemed too high to me, so i continued to check dealers and craigslist.
Last week I bought a 2009 with ~7,000 miles, Top Sellerie seat, and Givi V35 side cases...
This bike does look like a good deal, but 3.5 hours drive to take a look at it... I also don't own a vehicle to transport it back so I'd have to rent one or figure out someone to borrow one from, adding to the cost. There was a 2008 for $4000 I just missed. I think i'll stick to ones closer to...
No luck, I haven't had a chance to go out to several of the dealers with them in stock and see if person I can do better. Honestly, I'd probably take a higher price than $5700, but thus far no dealer has even wanted to talk more than $100-200 off MSRP. I missed on a reasonably priced used one on...
Right now $5700 seems like a damn good deal to me. Was that including any fees they tacked on (besides tax title and license/registration)? I'd love to find a place that would sell a new 2009 for $5700, and it happens to be what I start offering for them. Yet I've never gotten so much as a...
Out of curiosity, how much did you get it for? I figure Michigan has to have a similar riding season as Massachusetts. Dealers here all seem to want MSRP for a 2009 bike... At this point thinking I'll be buying a used one via craigslist.
Sigh, not many 2009 new bikes left in my area. $5200 sounds awesome, I couldn't even get a dealer to counter-offer on $5700. They stood firm on their $6790 + $400-500 in fees. Hell there was one selling a 2008 with 3000 miles or so for $5600 and they also would not budge.
I'm hoping they...
I noticed the craigslist post and ended up here. I'm trying to figure out what bike I want after my Ninja 250 and am hoping to convince some dealers to let me test ride the Versys, V-Strom, and FZ6 hopefully in the next week or two. If you don't have any luck selling it by then, I might be...
