Have you considered setting up a power distribution block? Just use a standard automotive relay off the battery and tap something like the license plate light to open the 12V supply. So, if the key is off the circuit is open and no impact to the battery. Just a thought.

Hello all, my name's Rich and I'm the proud new owner of a red 2006 FZ6. It's been 15 years since my last bike but I've already started commuting to work on it 2-3 times a week, rain or shine. Granted I'm in Seattle and I started at the end of winter, so I haven't actually ridden in the sun yet...
