I did only the trigger wheel on mine and added 6 degrees. The bike is so much better behaved. It has a lot more pull down low into the mid range. It did calm down the throttle transition from off to on, was the first thing I noticed. Thanks to Finalimpact as he helped me with it a while back.
I got a set of these also and really like them. They came closed end and I had to trim it out, did you have to trim yours out? I wonder if I orderd them wrong
I have my rear set at 6.
I have rode mx for nearly my whole life and set sag on a whole lot of bikes. We have always referred to it as rider/race sag and free sag(just weight of bike no rider). I think racetech may have mis printed it in their directions but maybe thats what they call it. No...
Ok I got it done I ended up with 31mm rider sag. I can definatly tell it sits higher in the front. I will play around with fork height when I get a chance to ride it to see how it turns. I was at 40mm rider sag with stock springs.
Are you measuring from the top of the cap or the very bottom where it sits on spacer? Looking at instructions which covers a variety of different forks I think it is saying measure from bottom. Or do you measure from the top of the cap where it would meet the fork tube?
I was thinking that also. I didnt want to get front to stiff and throw the back out of balance. Im sure I need a stiffer rear now but the rear of the bike does good.
Bike is 05 fz6. I weigh 220 pounds. They call for .95 but was wondering if I should get the 1.0? I was thinking getting the .95 and 15 wt oil. I will not ever be on a track I dont think and just use the bike to go out and play around on. Has many people near my weight done the swap?
Re: Final Imppact Winter project; playing w/trigger
Thanks for all the info. Gonna go mess with it here in a min, but wont be able to test it cause it is pouring rain out now:(
Re: Final Imppact Winter project; playing w/trigger
oh yeah I know the risk, my main hobby is sbf with nitrous and it is very timing sensitve. My bike also has a almost full tank of 93 octane ready and waiting. If you want to pm the amount that is fine also.
I can also relate to starting...
Re: Final Imppact Winter project; playing w/trigger
It would be easier for a hillbilly if I just knew how .000" to remove to advance 5 degrees lol. Did you ever figure anything out with gear position sensor?
Re: Final Imppact Winter project; playing w/trigger
If I read this correctly to get 4 degrees you file the .021"? Wow the effort you put into this awesome. Did you ever figure out if it does anything to timing with a gear position sensor?
