I'm really excited now - don't want to wait a week to pick it up! :D I have joined the FZ1 forum as Fz1uk so I'll see you there lytehouse ;)
Josh - I took a Sprint GT out for a ride and its a great bike - I couldn't afford new or it'd have been on my wishlist. You'll be very happy with it...
Just thought I'd update this a little - I've just bought myself an FZ1 today, its a much better machine than the last one I rode and the difference was just unbelieveable. Picking it up next saturday so will post a pic of it then :)
I was due to moving across to the Sprint ST recently but it fell through.. I may have found a bad example but it wasn't half the bike the 2010 demo I had tried a couple of weeks before and it was only an 09 with 12k on the clock! The paint was in overly tatty condition, windmirrors flappy and...
Ah the coast road Adelaide to Melbourne? very nice - I went on a coach tour down there 6 yrs ago and was very envious of all the people biking. Got an offer to ride pillion with a bloke on a sportsbike that I was quick to turn down... the guy was a nutcase! Anyway, hope your trip and towing...
Well the Sprint ST didn't work out in the end.. I went to see the bike in person and it was a 2009 with 12K miles and more wobbly bits than a fat womans posterior. The windmirrors flapped around at 45+mph.. the fairing was vibey and noisy under acceleration and the paintwork was badly hazed...
Glad you guys like my choice! I'll certainly post a few pics of her when I bring it home. I have heard bad things about the headlights on the ST. How have you found them rsw81? I guess its just a case of putting HID's in if they're not up to snuff!
...and I liked it! :ban:
I just wanted to say that I tried out the Triumph Sprint 1050 ST today but also the FZ1. I've been thinking about switching from my FZ6 for a while - the bike is great but my usage has changed and now that I'm doing longer 2up tours I want something a bit more comfy...
+1 on wanting to see the covers close up! Anyone know if you can also buy these commercially? It'd be a great way for me to hide the legacy scratch from a previous owner on my frame.
Looks really nice! I like the fact that it only protects the most vulnerable areas and looks cool. (shame about the creases at the bottom :ban:but otherwise spot on!!):D
I don't know my stormtrooper helmet from my bucket head.. but I can spot Iga Wyrwal (photo of the day) from a mile off! :D
Just had another look - that bucket helmet is hilarious! :D
Read through this thread before and remember something about the owner putting a personalised plate on the bike - if I am right in thinking his name was Joe and the '3' was the closet thing to an 'E' to make his name on the first line. I might be wrong and can't remember which page he mentioned...
