Thanks to the guys over at safari cycle, the gauge came in the mail today. Its got 44K miles on it already, but for 110$ shipped I really cant complain!
That a cool shot frank! doesn't even look like a road, is it?
Yeah I know its wasn't smart. I thought you had to give up "smart" when you gave up two wheels and a cage?
If you came to a road like that, and decided against doing it, wouldn't it bug the hell out of you wondering if you could?
I fried my 04's probably a combination of abuse and maybe a little water.
Cant really blame it for failing, its been through at least 2 severe crashes that I know about.
Anyway, I'm looking for either the stock gauge for the 04, or the newer style gauge.
The old gauge being punished :
The R6 rotors I bought "YAMAHA R6 S model front brake rotors 03 04 05 2006 2007" dont fit, they are wider, (not thicker) than the stock FZ6 rotors by at least 1"
Thanks for the tip on the compatibility sheet, ill check it out.
I was gettin a funny clicking the was related to speed coming from the font end, seemed to be coming from a brake caliper. I have done the R6 fork swap, so I figured 04 R6 brakes would fit too (alot easier to find, cheaper).
not so much  , they are almost an inch wider in circumference...
for real nasty chains Ive used brake cleaner to good effect without damaging the o-rings, Ive also has better luck with "chain wax" staying put better than "chain lube" and that grunge brush designed specifically for chains was well worth it.
milder cams and smaller airbox, I think the "de-tuning" was a result of trying to give it more midrange torque
could be other differences besides those
In all sincerity, did you think you got 21K worth of motorcycle? I guess I just don't get how they can charge that much, are they that comfy, or that high quality to justify that much $$? or is it just the name and image that you're buying?
Im not trying to be a smartass, I just never...
