I was cruising the dmv website and found a helpful link to some people out there.
V C Section 9562 Waiver of Penalties and Registration Fees
From what I understand from a different page (statement of facts) you can get the fees waved also by signing that the vehicle (car or bike) had not...
I'll tell the guy they may need syncing too then. Told him about the boots and carbs being cleaned better and he's fine with it. I had some plans for the fz but no funds so made it rough. Plus the 600r has a sportier ride position so I'm kind of excited. I'm 6'5" and 240# so the fz was thin and...
So I'm almost positive the idle is in the carb holder boots and carb. However it will no longer be my issue because I'm trading the 87 fz6 for a 90 ninja 600r and a 92 ninja 250. I feel like a trader cuz I love my fz but the trade gets me extra money from selling the 250 and without a job that's...
I also really want to get the original air box but I can't for the life of me find it. Found the boots for 65. Had found them for 40 but I can't find the site again.
Haven't had the time to tinker with the bike but I was told how to tell if it was the carbs or the boots and figured I'd post for comments or for others experiencing the same issue. Fire it up with gas tank off to the side to allow access to the carbs. Once started, put pressure from different...
You sir are a god send...now if only you lived next door to me. Haha. I'll check it all out...aGould be late this following week. I hate my stupid apartments rules.
I will more then likely do that since I found some for 40 bucks complete set. One question I do have is should I stay with the k&n air filter pods or try to find an original air box? I got a buddy who has been working on bikes for years that's gonna help me clean my carbs the right way. Good way...
I'm going to have my carbs cleaned by someone far more experienced then I as this is my first bike. I cleaned my carbs on my atv but I think these are far dirtier. One of my buddies said to fill a pan with gas and let them soak. Not sure if it'll work so once I scrape together 200 I'm just going...
Then its not the choke cuz its not a cable set up. Little piece of metal on the side, no cable...its a bar that is manually pushed on the side of the carbs to open or close the choke.
So someone mentioned to me it sounded like my choke was open. With the plungers down, is there any way the carbs will act like the choke is open? Could engine temp cause this? Is there any engine that will be a simple bolt on swap other then an identical engine as they are hard to come by...
Could very well be. I didn't even connect that in my head lol. Thanks for the tip on the boots. Flex seal is a spray rubber so I figured that might work but atv silicone is cheaper and easier to access. What could the high temp issue mean? Or cause it? What would cause this? I put up a search...
So the new tank is on. Started up and rode fine. Went to bring it home and the rpm skyrocketed again during shifts. Made for a hard shift and I think its beginning to mess up the gears. Carbs were completely cleaned and parts lubricated for smooth movement. Don't have the cash for new boots so...
Sorry I haven't been posting. Had a busy past couple of days. I won't be back to working on my bike until the 25th when my tank gets here. I can't work on it at my apartment complex and the closest place is an hour away. I will continue to keep you all posted with what I find.
It doesn't stay idling that high, it'll randomly shoot up there and once it starts it happens more frequently during the ride. Once in gear and the clutch is slowly let out idle drops back down to normal. Makes me have to half engage the clutch at lights to keep it from being so high or turn the...
I'll cap the one on the boot that the hose went to and run it to the carb once my tank gets here and let you guys (gals too for those reading this) and let you know how it goes. Tank should be here sometime next week. Could the hose being mounted wrong be the cause of the high idle? I couldn't...
