Good News.
Speedy(Les) at motowerk.com now has the FZ6 front and rear lowering pegs complete. They are pretty standard fit for across all Yamaha street bikes. The fronts are aluminum machined without colored anodizing and the rears are anodized black. I have both sets on my 2007 and they...
Rear/Passenger Peg Lowering Blocks
Speedy/Les finished the rears now also. I got to try them out and they look and work great. See attached pics.
I am not sure when Les will put them on his website motowerk.com for sale though.
Those grips were just an experiment and not from Les. He just humored me and provided those handlebar sized Al pegs so I could try them out. They were cheapies from a local dirtbike shop.
The actual design aluminum pegs work great and no problem standing on them with my Size 15 boots at...
-1 Front means more Chain and Sprocket wear!
Sorry to be a wet blanket, but the significant diameter change on a -1 front sprocket change will greatly increase front sprocket wear-out and also wear the chain much faster. If you really want to change the gearing go to a larger rear sprocket...
More pics of his design before he shaved down the peg.
These pegs are prototype pics and his pegs now are shaved at an angle towards the outside edge. See my previous post with the pic on a desk.
Speedy is done with the pegs
Speedy had me try out the pegs and review them for him. Awesome machining quality and great design! Wanted to leave them on my desk so I could look at them instead of installing them. He gave me permission today to post that he will have front and rear lowering...
Speedy (Motor Werks) on the Versys forum makes 1.5 inch lowering blocks for the Versys. I have some on the Versys, they work great and now I want some for my 2007 FZ6.
Speedy is willing to design/make them for the FZ6 (and Yamahas in general), but he does not have a FZ6 in San Diego. If...
I 2nd Geetarhero. The "WD" in WD-40 means Water Displacement, so it will dry out something sticky, but in the end WD-40 almost works as a glue. The residue is not good. But WD-40 is a good chain cleaner/solvent as long as you put something else on afterwards.
The Graphite spray is a lot...
WTB: Headlight / Stay / 2 inside Fairing pieces
If you are considering parting it out yet, I am interested in the:
* Headlights
* Headlight stay
* 2 Inside Fairing Plastic Pieces that fit up close to the tank
Let me know if you are ready to part-out these pieces.
The bike I bought had been semi-modified (badly) and I like a rear fender in bad weather. Let me know if you have one leftover from a Tail-tidy project and can sell it to me.
Thanks.
