Taking inappropriate equipment inappropriate places

Last year included 30+ miles of very loose gravel. One in the Breeze - most of the dust came off before the photo was taken....

But there was this adventure:

Need to find a video of the rider at the IOMTT who had to pull out of the race for some bike troubles and then figured he would find his own way back to the paddocks; road turned to gravel to dirt to a field to woods, he finally found a road and almost got hit by a white van!

A few years back I rode my FJR over Fandango Pass in Northeastern Ca. I don't have pictures of the steep rough stuff as I was busy keeping the bike upright but it was a fun road on a beautiful fall day. I did have a forest supervisor watching me...

I stopped by this small fishing lake with one guy float fishing. He looked shocked to see a road bike stop by.

It was dry so no mud to deal with and once I crested the pass I turned off the bike and coasted down much of the way to Ft Bidwell. It truly was one of the best rides I have ever been on.
