Stupid question, anyone concealed carry on a bike?

Kind of off topic, but if you decide to carry, it's just another possiblity for law enforcement to misconstrue your intentions in the event you encounter a situation in which you are trying to inform them that you have a weapon.

A while back ago, we had a military war veteran carrying, who had a CWP and was surrounded by cops with there guns drawn because he fit the description of someone in the store, he informed them that he had a gun and as he went to put his hands on the gun to put it on the ground, one of the officers said gun and shot him, and since the other officers heard shots, they thought that he fired off a shot and they all ended up firing. I think he got shot like 12 times.

This is not a question whether the cops were right or wrong to shoot, but you can take it out of the equation by not carrying one at all.

Maybe he just shouldn't have looked suspicious, the real lesson here is don't look suspect or the police shoot you full of holes.

Sounds like there is more to that story. If the man had put his hand on his wallet to pull out his ID would he still have gotten shot? If he had, would it be correct to advocate not carrying a wallet?

ACtually you can remove it out of the equation by not doing dumb **** while you are carrying a gun and interacting with cops in any way.

First thing you do is keep your hands in plain view and you don't say "Hey I have a gun" then reach for the ****ing thing. I would have shot him also if all the info I had said this guy is a suspect he just told me he had a gun and is now reaching for his belt.

If you are in ANY situation with the cops the best bet (and sometimes only legal route) is to inform them KEEP YOUR HANDS UP AND IN PLAIN VIEW and await further instructions.

When I get pulled over for speeding or whatever My hands stay on the bars or steering wheel and the first thing I inform them after they tell me why I'm pulled over is I have a concealed carry license and where my firearm is located. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES MAKE SUDDEN MOVES AFTER TELLING THE COP YOU HAVE A GUN.

IF YOU CARRY A GUN USE YOUR ****IN BRAIN!

Now what happens if you are holding, and you go into an area that no weapons are allowed? You keep your gun in your tank bag for it to be potentially stolen?

Schools, colleges, casinos, maybe a courthouse and other establishments you may end up not being able to enter, legally.

I generally avoid those places (we don't have Casinos in Texas) but if I have to enter them I store it in the top case or side case either of witch is secured both from opening and being removed from the bike. OR if I know I'm going there ahead of time leave it at the house. Out of all those places the only one I MIGHT frequent once a year is the courthouse to pay my vehicle registration.

It's not rocket science you just have to engage your brain a little bit and think more than 5 minutes ahead.

I think people who are against carrying or just don't like the thought of it, would **** a brick if they honestly knew how many people carry legally and even illegally.

If you re-read my original post, you'll notice that I already covered these topics.

I carried a couple of times while at home, but a belly band w/ a 1911 in it under full leathers isn't very comfortable. I decided I'm too vulnerable on the bike for it to benefit me anyway and just carry when I take the truck and can use an IWB holster.
