So I need to order a replacement caliper for my bike - how do I know what puck color, part numbers seem the same

They came in silver, blue and gold - what is the designation?

Was it certain years for certain colors?

I am fairly certain that the FZ6 only came with silver (Clear Anodized Aluminum) caliper "pucks". People have often used the early R6 and FZ1 calipers to get the gold or blue "pucks".

EDIT: The below part numbers are assuming that you have 2007+ FZ6 forks. Thought I should Clarify
Part Numbers
Silver:
Left: 4S8-2580T-00-00
Right: 4S8-2580U-00-00

Blue (From 03' FZ1):
Left: 5DM-2580T-00-00
Right: 5DM-2580U-00-00

Gold:
TBD

FYI, I have a set of Silver and/or Blue Spot calipers for sale if you are at all interested.

Hope this helps!

08 Raven US model has Silver plugs.
In your quest, be aware that "puck" typically refers to the actual caliper piston vs the intended "colored plug".
