So much bad news lately, but want to post this so anyone riding at night will be aware of this type of danger.

Am I missing something? All I saw was that a car pulled out in the path of a motorcycle and killed him. RIP rider, I feel for his family, but why is this something special for us to be aware of. I assume everyone in every parking lot, driveway, and side street may pull out and try to kill me. You know the first thing that driver said was " I didn't see him"

Agreed. I treat everyone on the road like they are going to pull out on me. The day you let your guard down they will pull out and take you out. I'm so glad I only got back into biking after becoming a driving instructor. I am on the road all day long watching how stupid people behave around learner drivers, I just treat everyone like they have the potential to behave like that around me on my bike.

I treat everyone on the road that way as well but I still think a reminder here and there is a good thing to keep me from getting complacent.
