Your 2005 is a FZ6 S1 that was updated in 07 to a FZ6 S2 in 09 the FZ6R was introduced. The R has a milder motor with a smoother hp curve a little more low end but much less top end.

So you currently at the right forum but you may want to check out the FZ6R forum.

Don’t do it the FZ6R is a step down in every category from your 05 FZ6
The FZ6R has more weight less power smaller tires and brakes
If I bought a new one if would have to be FZ8 or FZ1 they have more weight than the FZ6 however have increases in everything else to make up for it
