So I am in the process of changing the coolant and of course I can't get past step one. I removed the radiator cap bolt, twisted it counterclockwise 1/4 of the way, and it's loose but it won't come off?? its like it's got a metal edge on each side that's locking around the top of the radiator and I don't see how it can come off? DO I keep twisting it, or what am I missing here please??

Looking at the service manual it says

"A hot radiator is under pressure. Therefore, do not remove the radiator cap
when the engine is hot. Scalding hot fluid and steam may be blown out, which could cause
serious injury. When the engine has cooled, open the radiator cap as follows:
Place a thick rag or a towel over the radiator cap and slowly turn the radiator cap
counterclockwise toward the detent to allow any residual pressure to escape. When the
hissing sound has stopped, press down on the radiator cap and turn it counterclockwise to
remove."

So it sounds like you did the first bit but then haven't pressed down and turned some more.
