I have a black 2008 fz6 and would like to know 2 thing. 1st are the holes in the front fairing for looks or do they help provide air to the engine. if they are just for looks is there anyone who has made them functional and how?
Thanks to anyone who respondes.

They're just for looks. Maybe some aerodynamics? I don't know. There isn't really a way to make them functional without mangling up the tank and frame (probably making the frame unusable) and creating some sort of duct into the airbox.

Homer Simpson calls them speed holes and installs them with a hammer. FWIW.

I guess the holes you're saying are the ones just below the headlights.
Those holes are only and purely for design. Apart from that, they are completely useless.

You can't make them functional because the frame isn't prepaired to apply a ram air or air induction or any kind of stuff like that.
