so I have a 2005 fz6. my inquiry is , can I junk my underseat exhaust for a low level standard single exit one.?

Welcome to the forum.

You can use a single sided exhaust, but not without fabrication/modification. There is no bolt-on side exhaust. The outlet from the catalytic convert exits towards the center rear. Also, the catalytic converter has an O2 sensor that the ECM requires.

I’ve heard/read that people have used an R6 exhaust. You might find details with a search on this forum.

I can assure you there is no O2 sensor on an S1. .....or mine is defective
