Do you think you are an awesome rider

That thing is SCAPING the ground the entire time... You don't have to worry about falling over... it is already \"on its side\" I can do that!

Trust me, It IS NOT as easy as it looks. Police Motor School is a very difficult school. These guys are some of the most skilled riders you will ever meet.

How come motorcycle cops don't wear full faced helmets. Don't they watch Leno!!!

Most Departments don't use them, because the officer has to be able to see a threat, plus they don't want to remove the helmet everytime they dismount the bike. Most of the helmets have communications gear attached to it and itwould become a major ordeal to constantly remove the helmet on traffic stops or every time they talk with someone. Plus the the costs of a modular helmet would be too much for most departments not willing to spend the extra money.

My Department issues heavy leather coats for the winter time and leather boots, but most departments don't want to spend the extra money or are under budget constraints. I am stoked because I am next in line to go to Police Motor School!

Wow, these guys are good. Anybody who thinks they can do that w/o proper training is talking crazy...

Thanks for the insight JSW. Good luck with Police Motor School!

Cool! My next-door neighbor is a motorcycle cop, an excellent rider! When he gets out on his Star, he wears no gear at all, boots, jacket, gloves or even a helmet...

They can buy harleys but not modular helmets? I live in a small country and cops ride GSXR1000s and are fully geared. Including airbag jackets and modular helmets. Budgets are just excuses IMHO...I might be wrong though.

EDIT: Wireless comms are easy to attach on modular helmets too....

Lets just say budgets are an excuse at my department. The City believes that
Police equipment is not as important as other things. As for our Harleys , they were paid for by the university in my city. The Motor Unit provides escorts for officials, team, band, etc. during SEC football games.

Like the saying goes,...." You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink" I don't feel comfortable without the Helmet, boots, Jacket, and Kevlar jeans at least.

Those were amazing videos!!! Those are really skilled riders there! I would be completely lost in such tight and complicated pattern...
