BT-016 (front): 2,100 miles and toast?

2,100 miles of mixed use (no less than 400 miles of straight line highway, possibly more, with the rest being pretty twisty)

Side are pretty much done

Wear bars...would you keep riding this front?

I'd probably keep this tire going for a while longer as I had not noticed and decline in performance, but based on the fact that I currently have a mis-matched crappy rear tire on the bike AND that I have two sets of fresh Q2s in my garage, I'm going to retire this tire at 2,100.

Annoying....I know plenty of faster riders that get more mileage than me. Also know quite a few similar and faster riders that get about the same though.

So yeah, I had a fresh set of Q2s ready to go on (and they will be going on tomorrow), but I saw someone selling another set down the street from me for $150 never used so I scooped them up. Now I just need to make sure I burn through the first set in short order.

I just put the BT-016 Pros on before our meetup at Angeles Crest and they're using a different compound now. Haven't pushed them really hard yet but I've had no hint of movement on these. They've been really great for me. Supposed to give 40% more mileage on the front and 20% more on the rear with much better wet handling. I'll let you know How these are performing as I wear em out.

Thanks, Cliff. I've heard about those and will be following the reviews and mileage reports. What kind of mileage were you getting out of the regular 16s?

I never really kept a record on the last set but I think I got 4000 before I changed them I could probably have gotten another 1000 out of them but I was getting the bike ready for our meet and had to work at it a little and get the Pro's. I'm keeping a record on these. :thumbup:
