Battery tender issue

When I bought my bike in October it came with a tender cable running from the battery under the tank up to the left corner of the inside front faring. Its just siting there. Here is the problem.... I don't know what charger/tender would work with this cable. Are they universal? would any tender cable work with any charger? Or do I have to find the charger that specifically came with that cable? This is the first time i have ever had a tender on any of my bikes. I usually take out the battery during winter and charge it, but would rather not have to lift the tank up and all that. If I can I'll try to get a picture of it, but its in a tight position. thanks.

You probably have an SAE style plug. It should look like this:

This is an SAE to coax style plug, but you get the idea. You can buy almost any kind of adapter combo you can think of, SAE/SAE SAE/Powerlet SAE/coax ect.
